  19. I asked a while back if anyone was doing some milling locally so that i could come along and see how its done and pick up some tips, and martin (burrell) came up trumps and said he was going to do a walnutt butt. Today was the day. We met at the yard along with edd (wolfman) who wanted the milling done. Martin has got a 48" alaskan mill and was going to be using a sthil 076 with a 48" bar. He set up the ladder and done the first cut. We all took turns at taking a slab off. we also had a go with martins 660 so i could see how i would get on with my saw. I was impressed how good and simple the alaskan mill was to use and set up for different thickness cuts. Martin gave me some good advice on what bar and chain to go for on my 660. Many thanks to martin and edd for a enjoyable couple for hours milling. I think rob d will be getting a order soon. heres a few pictures of today.
