The choke lever stays where it is on mine . When it fires you push it down manually . The red choke lever/ignition will spring to the ignition on potion once you push it down to off choke . . .I TAKE IT ALL BACK ! just been out to try mine and yes you lift it up squeeze the trigger and it drops , just like you say it should ! I have had it from 2011 and always pushed it back down with my thumb ! Doh ! Thanks ! ...Take yours to your dealer .... -

Yea . The actual red choke lever does not respond to any throttle movement . So you are saying it wont come off half throttle when you start it ? So presumably it will race at idle with the chain spinning ? -

You can't " blip it off " Once its coughed you push it right back down and it will spring back to the Ignition ON position . The ignition is always on . The bliping thing you refer to is not choke but half/quarter throttle setting for starting .
