  1. Oak is a slow old bugger to season . Quercus Ilex I found to be the quickest
  2. It will pass . What you don't want is to become complacent .
  3. When you were as you say " enjoying it " did you not check everything and be mindful of were your saw was ?
  4. I have burnt it in the past and I seem to remember it was slightly quicker burning .

    Well a couple of weeks has gone by and I do miss Jon and all of his stuff .
  8. Oh . I see . We had some of those types systematically dismantle our horse lorry whilst we were away . Took the diesel as well .

  10. <p>Hi . I am a Husqvarna man but ...In the light of all the new saw problems from the big 2 a lot of full time cutters are moving away fro S and H and using Dolmar or Echo . If you do a search on here there is plenty of info on them . PM shavey for Dolmar info .</p>

  11. Yes parts are readily available . They are well engineered saws and dont have any of the , some times temperamental, auto tune problems . Dolmar or Echo seem to be the way to go at the moment .

  15. I too sometimes sit on the chipper to eat a sarnie and sharpen my saws how you describe and I'm 63 and its not killed me yet . I would just ignore a condescending pratt .
  16. If you put in a search on Mitox saws you might find an old thread or two if they have not been deleted .

  19. Cones , foot path closed sign each end , red and white plastic barriers each end , my mate up the tree saw running , me on the pulling line . Jogger vaults the plastic barrier , jogs through the " kill " zone attempts to vault the other barrier at the opposite end catches the top and face plants on the pavement . I take off my hat and throw it down in exasperation and disbelief Bonkers .
