  1. Can't beat a bit of culture on TV . ?
  2. Just be aware that if your saws have been run on pump fuel for some time it may be worth renewing some or all of the rubber components as they will have been attacked by the solvents in the pump fuel . The petrol itself will keep them soft until they eventually fail . Aspen however does not attack the rubber so does not remove the coating that is on it to keep it soft . If the petrol has removed it ( which it will ) then when switching to Aspen they can become brittle and crack . If you use Aspen from the get go in a new saw then of course this is not a problem . Its the petrol that has done the damage but some people think its the Aspen coz it goes wrong when the swap .
  3. I only left because I did not have much to contribute any more ( being retired from full time cutting ) and I was forever having to clear my phone as it was non stop most of the day . I accidentally removed myself one day and asked John ( TCD ) if he could reinstate me , which he did but had to wait 24hrs and during that time I thought phew ! this is a relief ! so I quit all together . I still hear from TCD and Mediplogs from time to time but not that constant all day thing .
  4. Yes . I use Aspen ( 4 ) and mix it @ 50:1 with whats left of my stock of Red Line Racing 2T oil .

  10. Sorry . Timber Cutter Dartmoor . Before your time must be . Forestry chap who hated high stumps . ( for good reason ) .
  11. Open doors / door reduces efficiency , sends heat up the chimney . Best to keep them shut .
  12. This is true . Breathing is now a hobby . ?

  15. Shit Kriss ! That IS making the news bud !
  16. I used to be hard coz I used to be stupid . Its amazing that I am still alive ! ?
  17. Well that's the thing . Someone sets themselves up as an " authoritative " body in whatever subject coz they can see a business opportunity . They bang the drum long enough and eventually their noise gets accepted as " law" and those people who have learnt and perfected their craft ( what ever it may be ) are now subjected to these tests, at a cost , even though they may be more competent than the tester .
  18. He probably could prove competence to operate a chainsaw if you had asked him to fell , sned , cut to length and stack ....
