Don't see those old compression ropes about much now ?
  5. Yep I have done that with them . Could not remember what they were called . Had a mini digger of a friend so all went well .
  6. Dan . Is that those plastic cages wrapped in a semi permeable membrane ?
  7. Get Eggs on the job ! ? @eggsarascal
  8. Once you have bought the correct bar for your saw you might be able to use the chains you have ( if they are the correct gauge and pitch ) by having the extra drivers removed and spinning it back together . Any one ( dealer or otherwise ) who makes up loops can do it .
  9. So . Completely wrong for your desired application then .
  10. Never realized this Khriss . Makes sense as it is what the tree has become used to ?
  11. In a nut shell you have the wrong driver link count ( you said so your self ) You may also have the wrong bar ( could be a Husqvarna mount / gauge ) you could also have the wrong pitch 3/8 , .325 or 3/8 low pro , or any combination thereof . You need to show the stamping on the bar so that someone like Rob D cant determine what you have .
  12. I tried those years and years ago and found that after a short while the plastic rollers ware down putting the file too low .
  13. Yes . Now you mention it ...
  14. God is so unfair . He has blessed that woman with ridiculously good looks and then he has given her outrages quantities of musical talent .
  15. I'm inclined to say that is complete bollox . Not the alien species bit but the " license " bit .
  16. Did you insert an irrigation pipe into the hole . Makes a good difference . No water wasted with run off .
  17. Bumpety bump . ?
  18. So how many driver links should there be when using an Oregon 16" bar on a Stihl 170/211 ? ( it may be a different driver link count because the Oregon bar mount holes and slot may be in a different position to an OEM Stihl one . )
  19. There is no way to defend having a waz on a memorial for sure . Thing is , because he is a total drongo , he probably had no idea there was a memorial there . After all he had no idea what statues he was " defending " or who/what they represented .
  20. Hope so Gary . Fingers crossed mate .
  21. In plantations I would have said its about 60:40 In favour of obviously infected trees but of course tons and tons have been felled now .
  22. 2 years ago I said something similar but now , well its depressing Khriss .
