  1. Yea now I think about it it is pretty standard . its coz I'm retired and don't cut very often now .
  2. I'm sure its God . He is so bored coz of lockdown .
  3. And I thought I had troubles . That puts it into perspective Mark . I just don't know I'm borne ! ?
  4. Ringing up some large recently felled Ash sticks today , for next winters fuel . Using 560 with 18" bar . Sticks were 24"-28" so would have been better with a bigger saw but hey . Using my woodchuck log lifter billiedoo with the foot on it . After a while I noticed the oil cap was dangling on the 560 and the tank was empty then noticed the clevis pin holding the foot on the log lifter was missing and the R clip lost in the leaf litter . GRRR ! ? Any one else have niggle day ?
  5. Stroppy toppy will be on it no danger ! ?
  6. FMD ! now the cat is out of the bag ! ?
  7. oi oi the Khriss .  I feel compelled to give you some well intentioned advice (?) Invest in a bottle of Abelour 18 year old single malt  . It makes all the posts seem , well benign ??

( think you have had one  ?

  8. Good luck with every thing Sam . You will go far with your attitude and background .
  9. You bar steward ! ?
  10. Sam . Hi . I played Judo back in the 70s through to the late 80s . I got quite good playing competitive squash as well so had to give up the DoJo . ( no good trying to go for a tight drop shot if your legs are all bruised up ! ) Allso was a 9 ( in the club rugby ) The point I'm was trying to convey is if you are not gifted a premises and staff it could be frigging hard graft in as much as your life won't be your own .
  11. Got em all . At 68 I let the mechanical advantage take the strain . ( 2 X splitters ) ?
  12. If you have chain oil that is 7 years old then you are a lazy FC ! ?
  13. A friend of mine owns and runs Chichester cattery . He is an ex Chi rugby 1st team player and now takes part in iron man events and triathlons . His wife recently passed away and is sorely missed . She was a physio that helped me from time to time back in my Judo and Squash playing days . But to get to the point I see him out and about training for this and that on a regular basis . You could not meet a nicer bloke . BUT he owns the place and has staff . My cat used to stay there when he was alive .
  14. It won't separate if its mineral oil . ( nothing to separate ) but it will b e subject to ambient temperature . Viscus when cold runny when warm .
  15. Interesting work Andrew .
  16. Years ago I was with a bunch of mates and one had an old revolver loaded with " roll your owns " . He was shooting at a target pinned to a straining post . After a couple of shots he got a misfire . He lowered the pistol to inspect the chamber and it went off . They were very low powered home loads but the round still went through the top of his foot and got deflected out of the side . He pull his trainer off and then the sock and the slug was in the sock . I said he needed to go to A+E . I suggested he told them he had put a fork through his foot whist gardening . They dressed the wound no questions asked . He wore the bullet round his neck on a chain for a year or so . The pistol went down an old well .
  17. FMdead . I know , I know ! Its COST . You persuade them , please !
  18. Again . cost . and yes you can " imagine it " but imagination is free .
  19. I hear you but they ( the manufactures ) are in business , to make a profit . If they did what you suggest a , say Husqvarna 562 would cost considerably more to buy and then they might not get the same return .
  20. You can " blue print " any engine from selected production parts but this all adds to the cost and time . Because it is not viable to do this cost wise manufacturing tollanences have to be opened up slightly to allow for random assembly . Hence not everything is nessaserily at its optimum .
  21. The above is the cost bit . I never said it was not possible .
  22. Its to do with manufacturing tolerances against cost .
  23. Don't take notice ( other than as a reference ) any old books that show " flush cutting " and painting wounds ( the norm when I started ) . Its all moved on from there Sam .
