  1. Yes John there was a 200cc arrow but not so many about . There was also a " low " compression head version of the 250cc bike . The lower comp heads had the spark plug protruding from each head at a slight angle rather than at 90 degrees . And then there was the Golden Arrow with twin Amal carbs .

  3. I had an Ariel Arrow ( a leader with out all the tin work ) Used to accelerate ( I use the word advisedly ) up to about 72 mph in 3rd , the click 4th and it would creep back down to 65mph .
  4. I had a Villiers 197cc trials bike back in the day . Can't remember but it may have used the same Fanny B engine ?

  11. Yes I have always referred to coal and coke as solid fuel . I just thought logs were pretty solid as well . Unlike oil , gas etc .

  13. Yes we ( kids 60 odd years ago ) used to catch them and some times they would " shoot " their tails . They grow back its their escape strategy . The legless lizard . As you say lovely creatures .

  16. Good points made by doobin just to add the reason he was saying about Phillips and pozi drive is the the bits and therefore the depression in the screw heads are a different angle .

  18. Yes same down here Hodge in west Sussex/Hampshire . Just seemed to me that things in and around York weren't nearly so bad .
  19. Chichester to Victoria ( BR Southern ) , UG from Victoria to Kings Cross , LNER Azuma train to York .
  20. Just come back from 3 days in York ( I live down in West Sussex ) Looking at trees , like you do , and Chalara Fraxinia seems much less prominent up there . Is this general ?
