  6. Ok ok , " Mountain Ash then 😁
  7. I'm wrong ! 😀
  8. We have Red Kites here like confetti , probably more than Buzzards but never been lucky enough to see a Black Kite . I think somewhere in England they are breeding Turtle Doves and reliecing them back into managed habitat to suit them .
  9. Just a point ...Most people don't murder someone full stop .
  10. Rowan me thinks .
  11. Morning dudes . 10c and damp . Have a great weekend .
  12. Pretty standard for limes ( I think they are limes ) . Basically you get a bush on a stick . Then repeated every few years .
  13. Pompey 5 Norwich 3 ! Great away win for the blues . My lad went up there .
  14. You try telling the kids of today ....they won't believe you 😃
  15. Oak is not the best fire wood to go for IMHO. Takes ages to season burns ok but slow . would not make a fire totally with oak . Would mix it with sycamore/ash/beech etc etc . I only use it to put a big lump on last thing to keep the fire in for the morning really . So I would not pay anything for that small pile . If it was beech maybe a tenner tops .
  16. Good morning everyone . Happy bank holiday . 🙂
  17. Sorry mate . The " true acacia " is native in tropical and sub tropical regions of Australia and Africa so I was way off there ! Pseudo acacia , False acacia, black locust are what was being suggested and you are right mate , its not that .
  18. What about a million and one Mick ? 😀 Bark looks good when I googled it . This is acacia as opposed to Robinia false acacia ?
  19. That's a good shout .
  20. Are there two threads on this subject ? If not my meager contribution has pissadeared !
  21. Morning all . Clear as a bell here , slight frost and 2c at the moment .
  22. And give you cancer .
  23. Turtle doves brilliant . Not heard one of those calling for years . Loadsa collard doves but not the lovely Turtle doves . The Red wings and Field fares have gone back to eastern Europe here now . Occasionally catch a gimps of a Gold crest or Fire crest in the hedgerow . The Red legged partridge is a " released " game bird here . A few coveys around now shooting is over . Where abouts are you ?
  24. I think you are probably right but , I don't think they are particularly " green " . The mining of the lithium then transporting it across the globe in stonking great ship is a massive carbon foot print . Then there is the pollution from the rubber they get through ( being heavier than the equivalent petrol/diesel car ) then the disposal of spent batteries all adds up . Hydrogen is the way to go I recon . The only thing that comes out of the exhaust is H2O . I am talking about liquid hydrogen direct into the tank not a hydrogen powered electric . I believe Toyota and some others have an engine that will run on hydrogen in a similar way to petrol .

    Cramp .

I am completely retired now Kram (72) so less regular heavy physical work . So , on the odd occasion I do some graft I get the cramp sometime later , whilst in bed or getting off the sofa that kinda thing . To be fair , when I was on the saw all day I only got it later in the evening never when actually grafting .
