  1. I reckon we may see more wood pasture being created with upcoming changes in farm payments.
  2. I was hoping the akimbo would be the answer but from the info i have read there is still teathing problems
  3. feckin dribble. Not remotely interested, they could be getting married in my village and i still would not want to watch. Plenty more interesting things going on, cup final is not one of them
  4. i suppose a directional felling cut would of sent it away from the climber and then hopefully by time it snaped off it would have been near enough clear of the climber. But as said previously a number of factors were at play here.
  5. Hi guys, i have recently started doing an uplift service from horner, TA24 8HY, If you are into biking then you will probably know that this is a wicked place to come biking. 6. No posh 4x4 yer boy chap. The way we farm is hopefully in line with modern thinking. looking for mixed sward hight more flowers and herbs etc. should have about 30 bee hives in the next couple of weeks. Because we are looking after and trying to improve the land we dont over stock it which means it is a fine line covering the rent. Chainsaw boots started leaking today.. it might be a while before i can justify a new pair!
  7. Some interesting points raised thus far, we had some conservative MP's visit our farm last week. One question they asked was what are you going to do when you lose BPS? Diversify and work double shifts leaving my wife to get on with the farming while i go out and earn money else where to help cover the rent!
  8. eggs you had me worried for a sec then i double checked!!
  9. Luckily my wife got his reg CP56 CXN. Picture is of a similar truck same colour etc
  10. As some may have seen in another post i was hit by an uninsured driver. Now it seriously narks me off that the police didnt seem that fussed when it was a hit and run and it narked me off further whan i found out he was uninsured and the police still didnt seem fussed. Now i thought both of those were an offence in there own right. Seems that i am actuially the berk in the whole affair as the other driver has had no repercussions, unless find out where he lives, and i have been left with a broken vehicle, loss of earnings and loss of time. Now i am fully comp so can claim on my insurance but obviously they will just add any costs paid out onto my premium so i will pay it back and more in the long run. So i will probably be looking at repairing it out of my own pocket. Now if i was uninsured like the other driver i would have saved loads of money by not paying for insurance in the first place, again who has the right idea here, the law abiding citizen is the one that is loosing out. But i contacted my insurance over a week ago, a shout out to aviva, who said they have contacted the engineer department who should ring me to arrange a viewing of my pick up to value it. Now i have contacted them a couple of times this week and i still await the phone call. This in my opinion is just not good enough. the service is just too slow. Luckily i have a good stock of subcontracting to fall back onto other wise i would be up poop creek without a paddle. Now i have written off two vehicles in the past, low value vehicles so a broken indicator would have been enough to write off, and it was simple. I phoned up to report the accident they asked about damage. the next day i would get a call and they would offer a value for the vehicle, i would then barter until it was realistic and then the money would be transferred to my account. Quick and simple. Not the way with aviva. I will not be renewing with them!
  11. Yeah I probably worth it as most roads round yer are single track. Doesn't look like a lot of room in the picture but he had no problems getting past when he fled the scene
  12. As in the special edition aspen metallic blue
  13. Was on my way to a job on Saturday when I met a vehicle coming the other way, narrow road. I steered into the hedge but the other vehicle locked up and went into me causing a bit of damage. He got out and accused me of driving too fast, to which I had some choice words in reply, a car came up behind him so he got in his truck to pull out the way only he didn't stop. He just tore off up the road. Luckily my wife thought he was doing a runner and got his number plate. I managed to limp the hilux back home. I went to the police station who didn't seem bothered. I spoke to my insurance company aviva who have told me the other vehicle was uninsured. I need my pick up for work and farm duties so was hoping to have it resolved quickly. Aviva on the other hand have told me I have to wait for my truck to be valued by an engineer... I await there call. I phoned the police and explained that my insurance co have told me the driver had no insurance. There reply was that they would send a letter to the registered keeper and that I have to phone them back mid feb, what a service!
  14. I have spoken to a local authority regarding this in the past. There is no law to stop you clearing a footpath. Although I would not take vesps advice and instead leave the arisings to the side of the path.
  15. I stopped using the northan arb supplies bio oil as i found it was gumming up the saws. I found that i was having problems with oiling and gunk all over. Gone over to the super tack from clark forest, up scotland, and not been having any problems other than the price. Wouldn't mind finding an alternative as i am sure i used to pay £50 delivered and now it is £59 delivered. But does the job well, no premature wear to bar or chain. No gunky film over the saw and fins and doesn't smell like chip fat. good consistency as well, runnyer than the arbor oil oregon and thicker than the rotor tech variants.
  16. my bed has is well passed it use by. chucked a shovel in back along and it put a small hole in the bed. most of the cross members are looking pretty shagged. But she is still earning me the dollar

  20. I hear what ya saying thur kenith. That sling is lolered- or should be- so it's no biggie. Although I probably wouldn't use it as a permanent fix, as the op has stated it has been replaced. Most blokes are looking at any excuse to sack it off for the day fair play to the man fe using his noggin. But sounds like it has worn prematurely and it was a good job ya man is on the ball and noticed Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. Good bit of quality in the thread yer! Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. Right I have two pairs of trousers that I want to get rid of and thought I would offer them on here for a newbie or a tight arse that just wants cheap/free trousers. First pair Stihl hiflex all round protection in size medium. Haven't actually had a great deal of use but the outer material got melted by top handle in a couple of places leading to rips. 5 mins with a needle and they will be stela. Second pair are a pair of englburt straus in medium waist. Supposedly regular leg but do come up short on me ,32 inner leg,. One rip to outter on knee and crotch needs sowing up. Free to any collector. TA230LG Thanks mark Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. A friend had one and the AA man told him it was seized, common problem. So took it to ford who had the engine only to find it was actually the air con pump that had seized. Cost him £2700!! After that he was then aware of the common fault and ended up getting rid of it. Shame it was a limited- all the bells and whistles. Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. Common problem that they sadly don't tell you about Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
