  1. We use a 400 kodiak and a 350 polaris big boss 6x6 tipper up our shoot. Will go absolutely anywhere but they do cause ruts! The 6x6 is awesome and goes wherever its pointed but they both paddle the ground up.
  2. Got 3 bags out today. Had a few calls but no confirmed orders off most. Rang a customer who had a bag a month ago and wanted another this weekend. Rang to confirm he wanted it but he said it's been too mild so not got through much of the last lot! Just biding my time.
  3. Hi. We have decided to sort getting a wood burner fitted in our lounge. At present we have an old gas fired back boiler with a hideous gas fire on the front. We appear to have a brick chimney type arrangement running up the wall through the house(semi detatched). Do you need to use twin wall flu or will single be sufficient? Makes about £250 difference in materials. Can you fit them yourself or do you need to be certified in some way? Any body recomend a supplier in leicestershire? Also a decent priced central heating installation company or person?:001_smile:
  4. The wood has been down for about 18 months and its all ash im doing now.
  5. Cold week forecast for the midlands! Spent the day cutting. Ash is only reading 22% when freshly split! Stuff thats been split a week is down to 18%. Cant believe how quick it dries, burns really nicely. Got 3 bulk bags and 30 nets to deliver this week. Having repeat orders too as people want to stock up ahead of any really cold weather we get! Nice to know im selling a decent product that people like. Hope everyone else is selling ok.
  6. Had a lot of calls wanting nets this week! They have spoken to people ive supplied bulk loads to and been directed to me but they dont have space for large loads. May get some barrow bags and see how they go. Managed to sell 10 nets to a lady this evening at £4 each. Commented how much heavier and nicer smelling my nets are compared to DIY store!!
  7. They have a website. Looks like they import from eastern europe.
  8. If you need a hand doing them let me know, reckon ive got a couple of days free to chop!!
  9. Hi. Could help but it would be split logs. Give me a bell if interested. Can deliver. Regards james Ash Paddock Firewood 07900695066
  10. First proper frost here yesterday and 3 orders! Got my flyers done too so will start delivering those once ive done these loads tonight. People say they are getting down what they had left from last year so sales will increase as more people get burning! Hope everyone else picks up asap!!!
  11. How about the stihl extreme ones? Only need front leg protection for what i do.
  12. The other half wants to get me a pair for xmas. Any reccomendations? Dont want her to spend hundreds on me!!
  13. doing 2 loads a weeks for the last few weeks. People starting to order when they get down on last years stocks. Its so warm!! Had sales via local paper advert so may keep doing that. Is it legal to put signs up roadside?
  14. WIMS is real. The target for overweight prohibitions has been reached, so unless you are well over, no trouble. The dids will always get away with whatever they like as they are untrackable!!
  15. The way market traders get away with tacho exemption is pure class! The stock belongs to them, they unload it and sell some, load unsold stock back onto truck. Not for hire or reward!! Their trucks are an appalling state in general, dont carry out checks as directed and argue about everything they can! I dont work in enforcement but deal with commercial vehicles daily.
  16. May find some on woodnet mate. People seem to be holding on to cord round here. How much and what type are you after? Regards james Ash Paddock Firewood
  17. I'll give you a tenner cash!! I reckon 250 round here mate.
  18. Free website set up! Have a look and do one yourselves! Took half an hour tops. Need to sort some different pics but at least im on there. ashpaddockfirewood.co.uk Also got my facebook page setup. James Ellis
  19. Things are looking up! Had a call tonight for 2 bulk bags! Local shop adverts. Also dropped off 100 small bags at local garden centre. Advert is in papers on Thursday so hopefully sales will follow!!
  20. Is there a way to get your page viewed by all local users?
  21. Based in Leicestershire. Could do with selling a few bags to recoup some of the costs ive had so far!
  22. Ive taken the plunge and invested in some adverts in local papers! Doing 2 weeks in each with largish ads which will hopefully stand out. Just dont seem to be getting any sales! Anybody else finding things slow?
  23. Anybody any experience of using one? Thinking about getting one if it saves axe swinging and speeds up my splitting. Not too fussed as im quite quick with the axe, just the real hefty bits im thinking of using it for.
  24. Where can you buy trees for that price? Very tempted to have a go at them!! Cheers James
  25. Im going to see if i can get any sales further affield by offering a delivery option for 100 or 200 nets of logs. Ive seen quotes for 70 quid for a large pallet. Anybody done this on here? If so how many bags can you fit on a pallet? Assuming 10kg per net, approx 10 logs.
