  1. I expect they would have asked for a receipt as well!!
  2. Thanks. I have also seen people taking a few steps forward while still tightly gripping the rope. But when I tried that I nearly went flying into the tree Sent using
  3. I've been groundling for a few years now but have mainly been dragging and chipping. Have just started to run the ropes on the rigging sides of things and getting on fine with it. Just one question though? When you are snatching big pieces what is your technique for letting them run. And how long should you let it run for? Sent using
  4. 96 m Sent using
  5. Is it possible to donate a days labour? Sent using
  6. Your probably right. I'm just too impatient. Sent using
  7. No only one end. I cut it 10 metres from the eye and thought I could get a 25 metre rope out of it yet. Sent using

  13. Evening all. My old man has just bought a new old county 1184 just wondering if anyone could help find some bits for the old girl. We are looking for front weights genuine or not, a logging blade would be fantastic. We already have one on the 1174. We are also looking for 8-10 tonne skidding winch. Many thanks Sent using
  14. The problem is that I am bored and not enjoying my work Sent using
  15. Yeh I get that impression about personal life. I would understand if it wasn't just the two of and I'm self employed. It's just annoying that I'm busting my arse off while he is raking in the earning Sent using
  16. I feel the complete opposite to this at the moment. Do guys feel that they have to carry their boss. The guy I'm working for is getting lazier and lazier. To the point where I feel we are taking a whole day to do jobs that should be taking a few hours. I end up doing nearly all the work while he is on his phone every 5 mins and I'm waiting around for the next task while he is still sat in the truck texting. It's really grating on me and wish I had more work to get away from it. Sent using
  17. Who's that who works in the woods?? My old man is a forester at Rushmore fells all the timber and hardwood. Sent using
  18. When I first started I would try and run back from the chipper. It soon wore me out and would be knackered by 2:00. I find a brisk walk plenty enough. Running in chainsaw trousers and boots is a recipe for disaster in my opinion. What about in some of these hot days we actually had this summer? Would you expect them to run then? Mind you £100 a day for groundy. I might get a jog on then!!!! Sent using
  19. Matt why don't you try some of the big estates like ashmore or Rushmore I'm sure they are always looking for beaters seeing as the seem to be shooting 5-6 days a week. Sent using
  20. I second what he said. Roland is a top bloke and you will save a fortune compared with going through the collages. Sent using
  21. Hedge cutting 8 till 16:30. Good set of waterproofs and just crack on with it. Sent using
  22. I agree. If you think about it the auto tune will always be resetting if your cutting decent size stuff. Just don't leave it to tick over too long and try not to run it dry. Sent using
  23. I'll be there Friday. Sent using
  24. Yeah it was. I know the bridleway. Better than my 106 loaded up with strimmers and fuel. Sent using
  25. We're you going through motcombe this afternoon? Sent using
