  1. Piston ring fitted, saw back together and seems to be running sweet. Havent given it a good run as no bar and chain but revs and idles fine. What a bar stuart that carb is to fit back in, fiddly!

  4. Couple of lime reductions today on the sub. Not a single saw started all day. Climbed with another climber - refreshingly different reducing a tree with some else climbing too. And much faster! Many phone lines amongst the second one.

  14. Yep has turned into a rebuild. Think he was hoping for a simple fix.....aye well have a chat about filter cleaning.....the rest if the saw isn't that dirty in fairness...do they do a hd filter for 550 of any decent mods? There is no sign of any hole or split in the filter at all but inside was dirty with very fine dust. Look forward to hearing of the 110 rebuild
  15. I keep thinking of buying a splitting axe or maul. I have an old 8lb maul with a hickory handle my dad gave me. Had it for a decade and split 10 to 15t a year with it. It won't die....will I really notice an improvement with this or a x27?

  21. If say so...doubt they were listed when they were built. If say our system is very much less than perfect but the concept that even if you own the land you should be able to do anything you want with it regardless of what the community wants doesn't sit right with me. I reckon there should be some process and control when people want to alter the landscape/surroundings I.e open cast mining, clear felling woodland, building a new hotel etc etc.

  23. Yep was just interested as why you choose the back handle 201 over the 201t.....been a bit chat about kickback etc lately and wondered if it was a safety thing or comfort or what.
