  1. Are you baiting me Bolam? It's spikes OR ladders for pruning. You're only a did if you use both. You never read BS3998? It's all there!
  2. Is it difficult, being perfect?
  3. Anyone wear Barbour? A colleague has bought one recently, and it seems very nice. At a touch over £200 it should be. He wears it for work. I'm envious, and am considering one. Probably wouldn't wear it for work though. I've already got a Cut n Climb.
  4. I have signed a contract to this effect. It's fair enough. My employer spends time and money training me, I return with hard work and loyalty. If I leave within a certain amount of time I cover a % of the training cost. In your case however, after 6 years I would have expected your climber to have paid off his debt and been earning you money for a few years. Besides, it's not like he left to set up on his own or work for the competition. It's not ideal I know, but at least it was nothing personal
  5. Very sound statement. Respect to you for not treating your subordinates like lesser beings A lot of people could take a leaf out of that book. On occasion myself included.
  6. So when you're changing over anchor points what is stopping you from dropping out of the tree?
  7. Got 6m velocity spliced into a swivel snap hook, with most if the tail daisy chained. 8mm OP with a distel and micro pulley. Theoretically it's perfect, but in practice it's still too long and gets wrapped around my legs!
  8. I believe 11mm is the min. dia. for life support line in the UK. 8mm min. dia. for friction cord. That said I know people who use 10mm on their lanyards with no issues.
  9. Saw a video on here a while back. Absolute nutter climbing a large tree and getting it on the deck quick time. Using spikes, free climbing, and occasionally stropping in to cut. I think he'd bet his ground lads he'd have it down in a certain time. Anyone know the video I'm on about?
  10. I'll bet you tried as well! FWIW I've had my breathe flex since they were released and I only have one tiny hole where I must have spiked my ankle. Other than that they're holding up very well.
  11. I suppose it's no worse than selfie. I'm amazed that such a daft pointless word is in the Oxford dictionary!
  12. What do you mean find? I'm right here! Apparently there's a cutter up Staffordshire way that's not too bad either!
  13. I'd build a strip bar on my patch. That many hairy woodcutters? I'd be quids in! Might even have a YMCA night.
  14. It should only be considered a word if people acknowledge it as such. Which they should not.
  15. I feel someone should tell you this. I'm sorry if this upsets you but... ..."irregardless" is NOT a word!!!
  16. Bargain at that price mate. With they saw you'll never need to buy another. Cos this one will likely kill you!
  17. Sounds like your 660 is over revving just a tad
