  1. Only for splitting. They bloody hurt when you drop 'em on your finger though!
  2. It was a big help on this one!
  3. So speaks the short arse...
  4. To be honest mate, the best addition to your setup would be a friction device and dead eye. £150 all in and you've got a pretty decent rigging kit. Wouldn't block down with it, but apart from that it'll do you fine.
  5. That first bit. If it makes your life easier. That would be my only consideration. Oh, and the simplicity factor. It's amazing how some people can't figure how to work a porty, so that's important.
  6. Normally I'd agree, but it's a little different here. On a ground saw you can invariably put on different chains to suit you. However with these little mini-toppers the 150 has a custom chain designed to get the most out of the saw. The same chain isn't an option for the echo. Thanks Geoff, and no, I haven't used one You reckon it's faster in the cut even on that chain? Through some bar length timber? I'd love to see a comparison vid. Fwiw I'm no Echo slater. I love that they're giving the others a run for their money. I fully believe when you saw it's a great saw. I just hate the fact that it COULD be a better one, with the right chain. It's like running in wellies. Try as you might you're always going to be slower than in running shoes!
  7. I've said it before. A lot of engineering and work has gone into this very promising little saw. To lumber it with rubbish cutting gear is a crying shame. They could have made a 150 beater here, but apparently, they haven't.
  8. Hahaha after all the nice bits you gave me I'd a tool not to! Is it a velox with the floop clip?
  9. Haha I was pulling your leg mate. I reckon I'm a decent enough climber. Nothing special, just competent. However when I get into a rhythm of knocking stuff out, sometimes I get tunnel vision, and lose my cautiousness. If that happens, I expect to be told. Wether by the boss, or my groundies. "Joe, that one was a bit close/plain bloody stupid". We all need reigning in frontline to time. Those who can't recognise their mistakes will never learn from them.
  10. 2nd that
  11. Looks a wicked job Matty. Any targets? Did you use your traverse hook? Proper climbers job that.
  12. Both of those are absolutely cracking ideal lads, nice one. I usually just kneel knees either side of the power head and go from there.
  13. Nothing wrong with innovation mate, it's how technology progresses. Might as well have said "why not just drill a hole on a stone!"
  14. Just ask for an epi-removal
  15. All apart from the unspecified clearance from the building.
  16. Bloody snitch
  17. Just be a stubborn git. You'll get through any moments of doubt or anxiety by gritting your teeth and pushing past your mental boundaries. The alternative is backing out and coming down. This will invariably make it harder for the next climb. Eventually you'll push through your mental block.
  18. I thought it was "one toke over the line, sweet Jesus?" God question, glad I'm not the only one who gets a line stuck on repeat! Usually a song my girlfriend has been listening to. Gets irritating!
  19. Hitch cord will gain memory over extended use, meaning it won't release easily when load is removed. Couple that with dirt and gunk and there's your problem. Use a fresh cord. It'll cost less than £2
  20. If you were previously using a swing cheek pulley the pinto will be forcing the legs further apart at the fishermans knots, thus essentially shortening the hitch. Try some fresh cord, slightly longer. Frankly, a pinto pulley is wasted as a slack tender on a lanyard though. I'd just buy an ART Positioner
  21. He didn't mean to. He was clearly using a smaller bar for the face cut, and over cut the centre of the hinge with the nose. Bloody poor work IMO.

    Ploggs .

Oh god, since Jon left Steve has come back. Better the devil...

To be honest I think the forum hasn't been as enjoyable in a long time. Lots of interesting threads, and good contributions. Probably gonna ruffle some feathers, that.
  24. I own the Tekichu and use a Big shot at work. They don't get used often, and are pretty similar. I reckon the Big Shot will get more reach. The Stein one folds flat but really that's just a gimmick. Much of a muchness really.
  25. I have a HND in Hort which I thought was level 3?
