  1. A couple of chestnuts, a forward leaning hemlock and a hollow ash fell.
  2. Pretty much every video I've put on YouTube has music on and they have always just put adds on it so the band gets the revenue instead of me. They even send me an email each time saying this is happening and not to worry about it. My videos are unlikely to ever go viral though haha
  3. I may be able to help with this, could you pass me there details please, or I can give you my number. Cheers, Jim
  4. Ive used articulated on a trailer and find sometimes if you do real tight turns with a heavy trailer it can lock the articulation on. That might just be an issue with the tractor I was on though. They make reversing trailers a whole lot easier though. They are a lot more manoeuvrable though
  5. I stalk Fallow and Roe with it down in Sussex but I wanted a calibre that could pretty much use for anything in the UK. Yeah that's the problem with steel ones they get pretty knackered after a few years, especially if you do a lot of shooting and also shooting in the rain. The hardy is Aluminium though so I'm hoping it will fair a bit better. Its a pretty good calibre IMO but its always overshadowed by 308 despite having what I'd consider better ballistic performance
  6. Its really really nice, I have only put ten shots through it so far but even that gave me enough to smile about. Will be doing a whole lot more over Christmas to really get a feel for it but its a lovely rifle and with the Hardy mod its pretty light. I think the whole rifle with scope and mod only weighs about 4kg I used to have a T8 on my last rifle, it was heavy and made the rifle so unbalanced. It also seemed to go rusty inside even though I took it off, dried it out and sprayed it with some moderator protection oil stuff.
  7. 22 rimfire is the only self loading/semi auto rifle calibre you can own in the UK
  8. England isn't anywhere near wild/big enough to have wolves.... Deer are at their highest numbers since forever... Why not hunt them and eat them?
  9. I've taken a top handle and a 261 on a plane over to Nice airport in France two years in a row without any trouble at all. That was in hold luggage with BA
  10. Tree Surgery Training Sussex & Kent | Chainsaw Training Courses Sussex & Kent | Approved by Lantra & NPTC
  11. Hello, I'm looking for a couple of days or so a week to fill up my working week. I live in Wadhurst but don't mind travelling a bit if I need to. I have 30,31,32,38 and 39. I also have FMO tickets in over 2.5 ton rigid, over 2.5 ton tracked and under 2.5 ton articulated. I have advanced first aid and a CSCS green card. My main experience is in ground work but do undertake small reduction work, crown lifting and things like conifer topping but I'm not too keen on big takedown stuff as I'm still fairly new to climbing. I've done a fair bit of felling work as well and I enjoy forestry based work. I have my own truck - 110 defender hicap, own climbing kit and 4 saws as well as my own public liability insurance. I also own an Alaskan sawmill. Cheers, James
  12. Thanks, yeah mortise and tenoned together then the top is attached with brass screws.
  13. A table I made last month for my tv to sit on. All the wood was milled with an Alaskan. Was a lovely piece of burred oak
  14. To be honest why would anyone be that interested in seeing a bunch of cars you see out on the roads every day for another hour on Top Gear. Id rather see supercars and vehicles I'm never going to drive being thrashed around. Although I wish the BBC would just give up Top Gear now rather than attempting to reinvent it. I just cant see how it could be anywhere near as good
  15. From my own experience, as a teenager I was sent round the farm to pull up every piece of ragwort I could find and every year the number decreased until now where I don't have to do it any more. Pulling it out definitely works!
  16. The guy that runs the wind blown courses on the site is fully qualified to teach them pal.
  17. His company do run them - Id know as they use my grandparents land to access the site..
  18. http://www.scottfrasertraining.co.uk Does them, I did my 32 there and I would definitely recommend Scott
  19. 5 foot macrocarpa with a 36 inch 660
  20. I got paid £7 an hour with just my 30 and 31 and no real experience. £35 a day isn't even minimum wage for a 19 year old unless they're an apprentice...
  21. Are you using a ripping chain? They make a massive difference to finish. Should be able to get It like this when everything is running right
  22. Something that's often not considered when people talk about the best firewoods! We burn probably 80% sweet chestnut, currently burning the offcuts that I get from pointing posts. Lovely stuff.
