  1. Ok then I'll take a punt. Going rate for an artist, say working a 7hr day in a school project would be £180-200 plus costs. This is dependant on experience and flair, some will work for much less, some will demand a higher rate. 3 main factors I would go with are: 1 How good you are/think you are:sneaky2: If you can carve a decent owl then you won't feel bad charging decent money for it 2 How long you think it will take If you can carve quickly and decisively then you'll make more money per day, if you work slower or waste time scratching your chin (guilty)then you'll end up working longer for less. 3 Your overheads Overheads will be the same I would imagine as day job. I would say as long as you can produce a decent carving you can't be far off with your usual arb rate, your time is exactly that whatever you're doing. Good luck with it Si
  2. Crikey Sean, This really needs to be verified. Do you know it's exact location? Fake or not it's a great image:thumbup:
  3. Would need to be seasoned first if you want to sell to an outlet/supplier. Got to feed the kiddies now but will post some possible ones up later. Cheers, Si
  4. Yes very cool mate, I need to drag myself out of the dark ages and get with Apple:001_rolleyes: It's astounding what can be done with those phones:thumbup:

  5. Hi I've been using clikpic Websites for Photographers and Artists for a couple of years now and only £40 per year. It's designed for photographers so will take plenty of images. Even though I have just the basic package it works well enough. Very easy to update info and pics yourself and what you can't do with it, ie - video, you can do with a blog instead. I use blogspot BTW
  6. Alright Rob,

Been admiring the avatar pic mate, What's it off?

  7. Hello back:hello: I have nothing to add to the winch element of this thread, but thought I'd say Hi anyways:001_smile:
  8. Cheers James! (re: little burrs)

  9. :001_smile:I've been watching both of them too, got a good price on the 200, let us all know how it runs. If the 192's go for £300 new someone paid £262 plus p&P for that one.
  10. What a twit! Oh sorry I mis-spelled that:sneaky2:
  11. yes, more of a WARNING sign for "naked lunge in progress" Let's try again:blushing:
  12. There you go:001_tongue:
  13. Mocked this up to relieve the boredom. Might get round to a "Lunge in progress" one
  14. Yes mate, it takes good detail and has a great range of colour.
  15. Very nice bud, like the face
  16. Hi, as in the title can anyone supply me with some small burrs? I'm only looking at a size range of say 2- 3" and as round as possible. Not sure if these are too small to bother harvesting usually. If anyone has some or spots some please get in touch. Cheers, Si

    Finally!

So due to lack of hand warmer handle you're warming it up on the cooker first. Good to see people thinking outside of the box.
  18. Thought I'd put in a mention for Rob D's new venture. Better price on sharpening gear than Chains Direct even before arbtalkers discount:thumbup:
  19. Fantastic table, must weigh a fair bit!
  20. Hi Andy, maybe, I'm not sure. The program said that the newer american ships were clad with "live oak" which was about 40 percent stronger than European oaks. The cannon balls simply bounced off the outer cladding! Live oak - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
