Been a while since I've posted anything so I thought I'd put up my latest wolf head pendant. Each one has its own uniqueness, but I like the way they have evolved into a simpler form. More elegant I reckon.

Hi Alistair, Sorry for the derail everyone. Would you be able to get a jcb or crane out there and see if you can pull them straight out. I realise suction would be an issue. Where is it and what is their fate once removed? Sounds like a lot of usable wood going for grabs.

Hi Mark, I joined twitter about a month ago and TBH it's a pretty useful platform for free advertising. I'm still finding my way round it but I have it linked to my facebook page, my blog and website. If your customers tweet, and say how fantastic you are, you'd be surprised how far that can spread and all for free.

Hi Ashes, I would say about the same as firewood TBH, whatever that would be. £20-30 maybe with delivery. Suppose it depends on whether they are mates or customers. Can't tell from the pic but it looks pretty green, do they know it will open up ? May cause an issue with their flooring too if it's got plenty of moisture in it. They could use those plant pot feet to stand it off the floor. In fact if you supplied it with some nice ones you could charge a little bit more. I think if you had a well seasoned log you could rightly charge a lot more but that would need several years to season. Hope this helps, Si

Probably best to ignore this as I don't fell trees, but can you not climb up the tree, lower yourself on your climbing gear level with felling height and put a gob in with a pole saw?

I'd recommend her neighbours plant some fast growing leylandii to replace the tree that is blocking her light . You get paid, she gets what she wants, and the neighbours in time get to envelope her property in vast dark shadows MWAHAHAHARR!

Very eloquently put Kim, and probably nearer the mark Yes sometimes the work doesn't equate to the time and effort spent on it and you have to charge less or risk losing a sale/commission. Like you said charge what you are comfortable with. The £180 -200/day rate for schools is a recognised national standard for community art and that is why I quoted it, I think it's an area of work that you can rely on having a guaranteed a fixed rate whatever you are doing, carving or workshops.
