  1. One of these ? they look good. Not. Verry user friendly there are better options
  2. I agree with andy but in my opinion safty is up moast and they should be deemed compatant not just there own opinion even if its just the one and he minds the other whilst useing the saw . Also there insurance will not be valid if the have any if they are not proven compatent via tickets I was on corse years ago and one of the chaps was crap but he gained a ticket because he was crap safely
  3. Oh right not far away then if you got the work load and the dosh then its a good choice of machine even if you get a u1000 with a front mount 7" nice box on the back will be be exspensive compared to a van and tow along but you capabilities will grow hugely
  4. The safest place for a chipper all front mounts fall within the legal limmit of front over hang exsept the ones modified to go on the front may strech that I think . When driveing you would be surprised how much visibility you have the only real problem with travelling with one on the fron other than a few sharp juct. Is shirt and tie folk in the mornig trying to jump in a gap in front of you that is occupied buy chipper
  5. Thanks it has looked better faithful old donky tho if I get the time ill get some pics off ma dads hard drive of when they had just been built up Alot of them do have pto's these modles where aimed at the implement carrying market not manny in the uk moast are old e/l platforms u100l 's with the sprintter engein There is a ag spec 140 on ebay looks like it had a recent spray over
  6. Mechanical pto. bumped up the price a fair bit when it was built as the chassis never had the facility. useto only have 540 output But a few year ago had a 1:2 box put on the chipper
  7. We wouldent be without them you based in the area? The u140l have had about 13 year I think its a good tool works hard has an 7" ducker on the front 12m mewp U1450 has more power and load capacity 11m mewp 10"ducker on front grate chipper The 2150 was brought for moveing timber and big site clerance jobs Bothe of these we had built from chassis cab buy A.C Price at a fair expense you need the work for them and it helps if you can maintain them your self if not it will be exspensive What sort of work do you carrie out ?
  8. Like others have sed best tool if you use them well no good sitting about Sky huck that is a nice unit And stephen is nice setup looks nice and balanced In my opinion a mog has to be versatile or its not woth having hears ours u140l u1450 u2150 and tralier removable chip box we dont find the lwb much hassle and front mount chippers are no bother at least you can see the over hang
  9. Nice imagineation rover put a harvester head on that crane and you should only need to get out the cab to get paid ..... and a few times for a wizz after all that coffee Elliott
  10. Quick intro im Elliott I work for my dads business along with my two brothers . we are currently haveing a new vehicle built our dream machine trying to incorptate every thing we need . Wondering what all your dream pices of kit would be? a feture on a vehicle you would whant? Or something you have come up with to suite you needs ? We all have different needs and no kit covers them all if you have got all you need would love to see We at the moment run two lots of m.e.w.p , 4x4 , chipper, tipper to get the ball rolling The new one should be near perfrction fo us

  12. Thats going to be good 5 -6 k pluss the recovery and transport if its had a big gulp of water why didnt they just quit and turn back
  13. Thank you .Sorry misconstrued the question a bit im only yong my self work for a family firm we only tend to deal with contract work . Have you thoughts on the type of work your aiming for ? Forestry commission work is fairly easy to find on the net and tedor for . But a fair bit of compatition Arb work there are many different forms from utilities, councils / local authorities, down to property letting firms , business parks . Alot have different requirements to be met The bigger the company you contract to the larger volume of paper work there will be to compleate What sort of setup do you have so far?
  14. Hey there The shame is moast contracts get snaped up buy management companies sub contracting is probably the best place to get your foot in the door
  15. Hear ya go easy fix just cut to size put through ring stich at tip and at ring end singe fibers at cut end I used a soldering iorn to pop a hole in it for screw, washer on top been on there must be two month now
  16. I have a good fix have done it to both our 150's useing what I asume is the mount for a rear handle ill take a pic once at yard for you. now for the blue peter bit you will need one exspendable climbing sling 15mm ithink . a ring off a dog choker or similar, some wiping stitch or similar, and a self tapping plastic screw stihl preferred of corect size.
  17. Hi I have only had experience carrying out radio work for the network as the customer not the land owner. But on a fair few occasions we have had engineers monitoring signal leves or checking line of sight to cause minamal impact. Normaly the boss is invited to survey and identify work from mast or such
  18. Ah I see sounds like a tasty uinit how they getting on up there havent seen them in a long wile ? Your lucky to have shuch a well equipped 140 I do beleive you and fit hevy duty springs out 140 l has bee keeping an eye out for ya.
  19. Nice to see other 140's about there quite oftern glansed over is it a ture ag spec ? Have seen an orange u 100 running a little chipper on back in you area for a good few years now how dose it cope with the weight on the linkage of a 10" I asume it is quite a light weight one ....... oh and is that corty's yard in the back ground looks familiar? Nice setup
  20. He did a blody good job and pricey did a real good job building it reach is ok for our line of work about 11-12 meter is all ye will get with it yeah you near on on chip Weight we tend to work over the chipper isnt a cheep setup tho everythink we have has gone in to investing in these mogs As for 140's have do have a 4lt 4 cylinder engine with a 4 gears hi and low As for the cipper shute it blocks only on soaking wet days with conifir if your not on top of it but rarely happens
  21. Yeah have a couple pictures on the phone its my old mans brain child . We run two soon to be three. Exspensive pieces of kit to build and run
  22. Not as standard can be fitted 140's have a 4 speed box hi and low eight foward four reverse it is also possible to have working / crawler gears
  23. Bare in mind its a 21 year old machine it runs all day to and from site running mewp and chipper simultaneously and 1 rebuild beein due to a bolt going through oil cooler dumping sump content dose 3 x the work than a van its well worth the repair billls
  24. Hey our company has run a 140l for nine years no problem getting parts from the right place. ac price knows ours in and out . a real work horse alltho under powerd dose travel realy well on the road once its rolling . The 140l has served us well with a cople engine rebuilds only thing that lets them down is power and the gear box has a big jump bitween 3rd and 4th can be a pain loaded also having to slip the clutch when hevey to get going
