  1. Having replaced the spring on the top roller if my 15-23, it still doesn't seem to apply enough pressure to grip the branch - this is proved by standing on the feed roller mounting plate, which then gladly pulls the wood. I am going to give the rollers a sharpen, but they are no were near blunt. Anyone else had this problem or carried out any mods to rectify it? Cheers Si
  2. Not yet, but I will. When I had my Lowas done I had to send them away, so I thought the Meindls would be the same. That said, it was a few years ago I had them done. The local cobblers have probably now tapped into that market!
  3. Cheers Rich, Do you know the name of the company? I have had mine a year and the uppers are still good. I suppose it really depends on price. They are a great boot, so I will get another pair regardless, just be a shame to launch a pair that still have life in them!
  4. In the past I had my Lowas resoled as the uppers were still great and the very comfortable. The soles of my Airsteams is bordering on the edge of a road traffic offence.... Has anyone had them redone? Cheers Si

  6. It may have seen the price tag on the Aspen and passed out.......
  7. I have had it a few months now, but there has been a few on recently - at wildly varying prices!
  8. As part of a "tidy up" of a rather large garden we were asked to remove the compost heap. Although not as big as some of the plant shown on this thread, the Skidster really came into its own. Low impact and saved back breaking shovelling. It made short work of the compost and then followed us round with a builders bag to collect hedge cuttings. We also used it in the hedge cutting....... can't really show those pics though! A good piece of kit
  9. Sorry Kev, that was something I had cut and paste from another thread, not directly from Keith. As I said I had trouble getting prices, so I sourced this. Not sure if its still accurate? Cheers Si

  11. No! The £470 was for the replacement Echo trimmers! So there is life in the old girl yet!?! Good job as she runs the strimmer to do my lawn edges!
  12. I thought the hole in the filter was a mod!! As for the feather - must of got that from the chute of the chipper, seems to be a lot fly out of there! Thanks Steve!
  13. The baby was born at 1624hrs - so WHY did they wait till Panorama was about to start to drop the news? Conspiracy theory?
  14. Sex, weight, baby ok? Mum ok? Job done.......... Panorama!!!
  15. Thanks Jim, is it ok to pass on your details? I will get him to contact you via Arbtalk. Cheers Si
  16. Hi Jim, how far are you from Lossiemouth? One of my mates has just been posted there. He tapped me up for some info before he went ref Arb. He is on the home straight and I know he will be looking for some work experience ( more than likely gratis). He is quite well qualified already - just not sure of the geography! Cheers Si
  17. [quote=sammym; Glad it is going well for you mate. For a bootneck it seems like things have turned out surprisingly well for you! Thought that was a little rich coming from some one who shut their company to go on tour with the TA's
  18. I think it comes down to management of expectation. I knew that when I left the Army I would need £X amount to continue the same quality of life for me and my family. I worked out I could make that in Arb but I would have to work dam hard! I also worked out that I could make a lot more by running my own business. I now do that. I can safely say I work hard for my money, but I also enjoy it! I know it's not for everyone and I hope the job in Austrailia works out for you. I hear they pay mega bucks just for driving a truck at the mine!?
  19. It seems you are pretty discontented with your lot. Why after 8 years are you still doing it? Ever thought of moving to something else where the return (in your opinion) isn't minimal?
  20. It's ok, I have seen some nice chaps that do Stihl etc. Free delivery from back of transit. Not sure about warranty, but service backup is on par with Stihl:thumbup:
