  1. Cheers Jesse, I have a couple of grinders so can get to most stumps. I want to upgrade the Carlton to a 50hp purely to get the job done faster when I am using a bigger machine. Quite a lot of interest on Ebay -who knows though!
  2. Looking at 50hp grinders. Has anyone owned a P50M or have any info on pros & cons? Ta Si
  3. Happy days Matty, you're a gent! I will PM you next week with more details. Cheers Si
  4. Hi All, I have a job in Royston next week which is a little way out of my usual AO. I would appreciate any direction/suggestions for local chip tip sites. Failing that its back to "using the force" !
  5. Thanks for the heads up - something we should all take notice of. That's not to say that we need to "suit up" when some ones mentions chipping! Definite under current to this thread...... as if more than one persons been "agitated" by it!!
  6. Think I may change my business name....... Eddie Stobart Tree Services........ they may even make a program about me, dramatising my arrival/late arrival at jobs!
  7. Tbh the wall is due to come down. I told the client I would grind up to it,(as the stump went under it) grind his other 4 stumps and come back when he had removed the wall. When I got there this morn, he had knocked a great big hole in it so i could do the stump. I'm sure most of the uneducated that passed me this morning thought it was some sort of botched Irish ram raid!!!
  8. You know how it is........ when grinding....... your mind starts to drift...... Next thing you know, you're in the next door neighbours garden!
  9. .........where ever your imagination takes you!
  10. Arrived at Lidl today ....... all excited....... Denied! Explained what I was after, still none the wiser!
  11. Really rate these teeth........ They go through everything!
  12. The house wouldn't fit through the chipper!
  13. Thanks. Everyone that stopped/passed seemed pleased it was all going!
  14. Clearing up the stumps with Big Red.
  15. Had a Job in St Neots over two days. Not my usual stomping grounds, but happy to travel to new places. We (Will Ayers and I )were roadside doing a garden clearance. The interest it generated was superb! 8 people asked for business cards, from that two quotes to do and 2 confirmed stump grinding jobs!(so far) To top it I had failed to secure a tip site ( but thanks to Matty F and Burrell for trying!), but managed to find two places happy to accept chip! The only down side was the full on battle we had with a nasty bunch of bees...... Another story! Roadside Rules!!
  16. I think the Lidl ones must be worth a punt....... But I would be interested to know what ear protection they give compared the likes of MSA/ Husky? Is there a difference?
  17. Yeh there seams to be avast difference in price dependant on brand. That's why I was looking for pros and cons before parting with some hard earned....
  18. Not the communication system...... But the Radio muffs are what I am after. Any experience of MSA?
  19. I recently snapped my radio ear defs. I was given them as a present from America along time ago - great for stump grinding etc. I saw the ones the carvers were wearing on Country File and they looked a lot more Gucci and up to date than mine! Anyone know what make they are? Or any recommendations for a new pair? ( hopefully not Stihl - I wouldn't pass their rigorous selection process to purchase their gear!)
  20. It wasn't the manufacturers mate - I made the mistake of taking someone's word that they would be sent on after the purchase, and again, and again...... As I said at the start - lesson learnt!
  21. Thanks Lee - no show again on bolts, will call you tomorrow
