  1. Cheers, I will give them a try - but as I am starting to find out there is a big difference between "dealers" who sell equipment and "dealers" who sell and SUPPORT equipment.
  2. I bought the Carlton grinder pictured over 2 months ago. I was promised the bolts to fix the stabilising wheels would be sent on - after phone calls , texts and emails to the seller, alas no bolts. Yes I know lesson learnt!! Has anyone got one of these that can let me know the bolts required or where to get them? Many thanks Si
  3. My brother regularly buys new saws in the States and brings them home in his hold luggage. They are new though - so dry. He has never had any trouble, brought a 660 home last time, with 36 inch bar and chain. You save a fortune buying in the States (obviously for your own use) - maybe worth renting one out there - then buying a new one to take back with your profit!
  4. NEVER get rid of the outhouse!! It justs moves location every now and then!
  5. I'm up to my eyes........ .....putting a new bathroom in!!
  6. Dont know yet, didnt dare drive into the Iveco garage this afternoon as the towbar was bottoming out Will pop in tomorrow and see what they say.
  7. Yeh, been on their, not having much luck!
  8. On another note - do you know of any good parts suppliers for the Ivecos? The rear light bar/ rear apron (metal bar with the lights on!) on my truck is rotten - cant find them on the tinterweb anywhere? Scared to go straight to Iveco as I already have a mortgage!
  9. Johny - You have a pretty good idea of what it weighs!! I was talking to Peter about it today and he was telling me how you had sucessfully gone down the "O" license route. This will be be my next move - but at the minute I need to get established and known in my (new) area - I havent even found anywhere I could park a truck yet!
  10. No I didn't spray it - I think I said I would of liked to! The floor was done with Red Oxide - or whatever its called nowadays - think it used to be called red lead, but it basically seals the metal to stop rust - well it does till you start firing Maple chip at it! Good luck with the welding - if you need any advice ask Rory, he has posted a few pages back - what he doesnt know about welding........
  11. Tested the tipper with a full load - approx 3.47 tons fully loaded
  12. Thanks - to be honest it all happened over a two week period - but I have only got round to putting the photos/story together over the last few days.
  13. Thanks for the positive comments! After a frantic weekend of painting and polishing she was ready for work! First day on "Active Service"!
  14. Peter's Pro Tipper Site is advertised at the top of this thread. He has photos of a coverted Navara on there. Having used these I can say they are a top class piece of kit!
  15. Thanks Chris, I have told Rory that you are interested and he will be along shortly to talk to you. TBH he has dug out blind for me! I gave him a list as long as my arm of things I wanted - and bearing in mind he had his proper work on as well, he did a great job. We did discuss a basket above the tool box, for the likes of signs, cones, etc. But alas we ran out of time..... Is it in the post Ror??
  16. The head board was reattached. Ali planking fitted. Chip catcher on the front part of the chip box. Ideally I would of had the metal work shot blasted and sprayed, alas time, workshop space and money all dictated otherwise...... So it was sealed ready for some roller action....... one of many jobs - to get rid of those "Street Scene" decals!
  17. .....should really check these before I post
  18. At this stage I had already ordered the ali planking for the sides. Peter told me that Service Metals were the people to see about the planking - so I paid them a visit at their Braintree depot in Essex. I met Rob Fletcher (Director) who spent a good hour talking through my options and their products. I then had a tour of their warehouse and was able to look at/handle all the ali products they have. I needed to take some measurements before I placed an order ,so Rob let me take some off cuts of the materials to show Rory. Top service - excellent product - I cannot fault Service Metals!
