  1. Just come down out the tree and changed the 4" tether back to the 6", it was sitting to close to my hitch and just felt uncomfy, so now I know : )
  2. Haha great stuff matt, it looks like blanka ( think that's his name) from street fighter the computer game....
  3. So I have been using a petzl 6" tether from a quick draw, fount it really good and the wrench falls into place without me even looking, was going to try a 4" just to see how it goes in terms of length, anyone else use these and what length have you tried.... Oh and another thing the eye in the tether is quite wide and it's hard to get the wrench to close when in place. Would this be an issue in regards to cross loading the side plates of the wrench? Thanks for any replys... Adam
  4. Did you have a play with photosplash yet mate?
  5. What iPad have you all got? Mine is a 3rd gen which I can not upload imagines without tapatalk Great images by he way David
  6. Second that mate best country file in a long time great stuff
  7. Gutted as I was going to reply with that very same answer..... Well done rich:thumbup1:
  8. Thanks for the info Jamie, be nice to get on the course, will have a gander at there site....
  9. I use mine as a hauling capture device ie saws and other equipment... Don't use it often and have never used it for anything else, to bulky for the lanyard, plus I was given it by another climber and don't know it's history so would never use it for belay or descending on....
  10. Got her number? Am willing to travel:biggrin:
  11. Tony it's an app to try.....why have you a problem with people trying? If by chance something is done to help stop the spread, then tracking its movement is going to be all the more worth while...... I'm all for the app and I think it's a great idea, track......try and find a containment scheme and hopefully just hopefully stop the disease... It's a long shot but well worth the time effort and yes money we probably don't have....
  12. It's a basic free app, which in my eyes will be very useful, all you do is take a photo of the tree you have identified to have the fungi, then add your location via GPS then click send, There's a small identification piece in it to which may help with those who are not familiar with the disease..... Be interesting to see if it works well.
  13. Being a contract climber myself i see there no reason to fall out with whomever it is your working for unless of cause it tends to become a habit, I've been in both situations before, had firms cancel the night before even the morning before I go in, I've even turned up at a firms one morning only for them to realise they have forgotten to write it in there diarys, and on the other hand I've had to cancel unexpectedly on firms also, at the end of the day things happen that can't be help and could of been avoided but that's life, we are after all only human..... Just carry on as normal and if it happens again then ask them that a little more notice would be helpful, and then if it happens again then you need to think about not doing work for them.... Work is hard to find, and things like this are a pain in the butt, but there's no reason to create even more gaps in your diary by charging them.... Adam
  14. Thanks for posting, silky hit the nail on the head for me to, it is breathtaking, shame I may never get to see it myself, Still not as big as the one I took down last week
  15. Yes mate I see that way being very easy, just curious......but if it can be done its good to know if needed, just thinking if the rope was away from the stem, foot ascender would be needed ill cross that bridge when I come to it.... Cheers dan:thumbup1:
  16. Really mate? Why's that? Can the foot accender be used with your spikes?
  17. 2 expensive for one, and by all accounts they had the tree down quick time with out it, top bloke and gutted I missed him too
  18. Well said mate took the words out my keyboard
  19. Yes mate it really is that much better I honestly can say I would probably never go down the Drt road again but it's still early days yet mate, at the minute it's Srt all the way for me What is it you think you won't be able to do mate:001_smile: There's nothing you can not do, redirecting make the climb easier and millions time more efficient seriously give it ago mate
  20. I know mate but for some reason I just never got on with the zk1 I'm still racking my brains to think why I would go back to Drt Think I might be a while on that one
  21. Willow tree previously reduced about 5 years ago, not by me....no comment on the previous works, the tree is under a planning condition and the local tree officer had recommend to remove crossing branches from regrowth, reduce 2 large limbs over a road quite hard that had been left from the previous reduction, crown raise and remove from BT wire, only my 3rd real go with the rope wrench today, really slippery but really enjoyed the climb. Feel like I've really bonded with the wrench now.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  22. I'm hooked...... Could not think of a single reason to go back to Drt just come down for some dinner and I'm 2 hours in front for a job I'm doing.,...
