  1. Thanks mate, very kind words. I'm sure the customer was happy! It was to a specification so they can't really be unhappy!
  2. Thanks James, yes the bone is great, more than welcome to Pop over and have a play sometime phantoms are lovely and comfy, we will see on lifespan Thank you very much mate, it's one of those jobs you either hate or love, hating it will only make things worst, it takes time and a lot of guidance! You'll get there I'm sure Cheers Timon, SRT can be as complicated and complex or as simple as you like, it's all down to the user I guess, running bowline as a base anchor or running figure 8 knot is more than simple and safe. It took me a good couple of weeks to adapt to thinking redirect SRT and then added to my technique as I progressed, 3 1/2 years on and it's just natural now. Time and effort is only in the climbing and ascents, I would say at least 25% of both at a guess mate.
  3. Cheers bro, to be honest mate it will be a one off in regards to time length, I just wanted to show a decent amount of footage of a reduction using SRT. 4 1/2 hours total climbing mate, I was down done dusted climbing for 2pm
  4. Thanks jay, haha you can tell James himself that he's on here See my post above re the redirects, mainly to cancel out any limb breakage from redirect forces, static or pretension statics help control this. Bulldog is amazing, closest I've ever come to a mechanical hitch. Around about the £200 MK Mate
  5. Liked that rich, big old girl at the base. Nice rigging skills on the bollard buddy Loved this bit haha
  6. Thanks joe, The rope was Yale kernmaster. As for the redirects it all depends on what angle your coming from and what angle of leverage or pressure will be placed on the limb your redirecting off. You can support or even static brace limbs by pretensioning then static redirects/anchors to allow almost no separation of the supporting redirect, some cases don't require being static so just a basic clip in will do. The cow hitch showed an example of a pretension static redirect, also I prefer it as it's easier to get the required length. Alpine butterfly can be a little bit of guess work.
  7. Thank you darrin, Re the scabbard I really don't think I need it on that 150! Plus I don't think they make a 10" version for it. More of a hider than anything. Glad you enjoyed it though
  8. Thanks Mark, means a lot dude, you know me though I like to teach and I never keep tricks back, what's the point! Even simple things should be shared to enlighten people and make things easy for them. have fun with those oaks mate, nice bit of shade of its hot
  9. That's not a bad idea David, like a teaser trailer or something. I've got to edit it to make it watchable in the states so I may have a play then thanks also
  10. Thanks lads, it's something I've always been passionate about, did you watch the whole video? Or just flick through out of curiosity?
  11. 2m Oak reduction for heritage tree specialists last week. Long spreddy limbs loads of redirects for a better work position and on Gordon's bulldog bone. Been wanting to do a full scale video of an SRT reduction for a while now, but didn't really know what to put in it. So I come up with this, it is a long video (29 minutes to be fair) but for those who are interested in how I work the tree SRT and a little insight into my reduction work switch your settings to HD and enjoy. Adam
