  11. nice work all round rupe. was a false rigging anchor point not an option just so you did not have to go back up the oak to remove the hardware?
  12. just bough a length of samson stable braid 14mm, used it twice and very nice really, supple yet the fibres are tight just a touch slippery for now till it gets worked in, all in all impressed, feels better than my old marlow braid .....

  14. your right 3/4max sharpens and the file is not worth keeping and this is how it should be, trying to sharpen the chain with a blunt file is worst than not sharpening it at all in some case's anyway! the vallorbe are really good, the stihl files are very soft and i've done one round trip on a 30" bar and its been binned before....buy quality mate 4/5 may 6 sharpens out them remember keep your strokes light, pull out on release............. yes i know what it sounds like......anyway you don't need being told how to sharpen.......let us know what you think when you used a few mate....

  18. sounds like you have your hands full Mr Collins? flyers are good for post office's and local shops, would you put them through doors though mate? did some bigger versions of my business cards they turned out perfect....

  21. Thanks martin this was just a piece that old snake gave me to have a practice on, i will do a better one when i order some yalex ....loads of it 2 .... thanks for any advice though mate?
  22. for me its never been the fear of heights, does not bother me if i'm 15ft up or 150ft up, falling is not so much either, being in harness and roped in, its still going to hurt what ever height you fall from, so why think about it like that! when i was struggling last year through fear of having an accident and never seeing maisy again, it really started to put me off, but getting over it was/is a major advantage to me now, its very rear now something makes me think those horrible thoughts but keeping them close in the back of my mind keeps me safe! thinking about your job at hand is and should be your no1 thought through out your working day, this is what keeps you safe, this is what keeps you going home at night, everything else should either be thought about during breaks, dinner ect ect... concentration is the key, and reap the rewards of your well thought out planned and executed job.... Stay safe guys/girls, remember a good climber always wears stockings and suspenders.....

  24. 90mm i think mate, one might be slightly of. 10x the rope diameter as a guide though...? all new to me so still learning:biggrin:
