  10. The rope is tied off on a limb with alpine butterfly, the tail enables it to be retrieved
  11. The hitchclimber is used in the same way in both systems, if your climbing on ddrt the friction is generated over a limb if using it for srt you need to add friction by means of a rope wrench or the like. In srt accsess the hitch acts like mechanical ascender would by capturing progress however trying to descend without added friction would generate a lot of heat on the hitch which would cause it to jam.
  12. I got a lie in till 7:30 got bacon buttys homemade cards lots of hugs and kisses and a new mug what more can a proud dad ask for.
  13. Sorry if this has already been posted! I thought I would share it in case it's of interest to anyone.
  14. Your welcome Steve! Glad you like it
  15. If you isolate your line on the branch your srt line is over with an alpine butterfly, ascend to the desired hight, then tie another alpine butterfly in the other side of your srt line the side that you would pull to retrieve your srt rope, clip a beaner on the loop of the alpine butterfly and onto the spare hole on your hitchclimber pulley, then unclip your ascender you have now created a dirt system to work from.
  16. You can sit down in the system to rest but you need to hold your weight to ascend
  17. this my setup, I use a pantin on my right foot and you basically hold the rope above the ascender lift yourself on your pantin then slide up the ascender and left foot
  18. I think that would be classed as a section 5 prohibited weapon!
