  1. Just wondering Has anyone managed to get there pulley saver stuck? I did today somehow as I was retrieving it the loop got squashed against the tree and would not let the pulley through! You can imagine how silly I felt having to ask Rupe to go up and get it for me. Is there anything I could do to prevent this in the future?
  2. When I climb on a blakes i will tie a series of slip knots in my climbing line, at least if your descent is quicker than you intended you won't hit the ground.
  3. Thanks rob That's gonna make using arbtalk easier.
  4. Thanks for your help I'll purchase the app now.
  5. Hi, all Can anyone shed some light on transferring pictures from an iPad or iPhone onto arbtalk?. Kind regards Paul
  6. Not sure about pinto size it says its a pinto rig pully it looks large, the loop is held open and as soon as the weight is off it springs open to allow easy passage for the pulley, I bought the longest one they do thinking that the length might be handy, in hindsight I probably should have bought the short one.
  7. I've got one for that reason, it's brilliant I've only had it a couple of weeks but I've used it loads and not had it stuck yet! I can recommend it to anyone, but I agree it's a lot of money for what it is.
  8. I've just bought a pulley saver from treeworker, it's brilliant I still use my cambium saver but pulley saver defiantly gives you greater movement Paul
  9. Surely if it fits you it's designed for your size?
  10. What I would do is this, firstly look for a plastic loop on your decoy most have them, if not pierce a hole in both sides, next you need to fix a line up between 2 trees with enough slack so that it droops in the middle, then get a separate piece of string and thread on the decoys, next cut the middle section between the trees and join in the piece with the decoys on, all that's left to do is to untie one end and pull it tight raising the decoys, if using decoys with wings like a peregrine or similar it spins and twists in the wind giving a much better effect. Kind regards Paul
  11. I would just like to say a huge thankyou to rupert for his time and expertise today, we had a great couple of hours in the top of an oak tree, I've learnt so much in such a small amount of time, and achieved things that I would never have been able without his guidance, I would advise anyone who is looking at a hobby or career in climbing to spend a few hours talking to an arbourist, Thanks again rupert, I look forward to climbing with you again soon. Paul

  21. Hi all Ive been recreational tree climbing for a couple of years now, I bought a new tribe saddle as my first saddle and I climb using split tail, I get up to the canopy ok but I don't seem to have a lot of freedom to move out on to branches, is it my gear? Or just my inexperience? Kindest regards Paul:confused1:
