  1. Whatever you get for the 30cm and bigger ones, get a Stihl 170 as a backup and for doing little stuff. They are so cheap it's always worth having one about.
  2. I'll be pretty surprised if that's true. Got a source? Good thread btw.
  3. Only just realised that this existed! This explains the 'Raffle Sponsor' bit next to people's avatars I'd been wondering about for years...
  4. I do the same (but the cubes I have don't even have the pull ups). There must be something that fits. Probably for orange squash but there will be something out there.
  5. Thank you. Anyone know about the oil? Any spout. Not necessarily a Stihl one. ?
  6. 1) Can you get a spout (self-stopping or otherwise) that threads onto the Stihl 5L chain oil cubes? 2) Can you get a spout (self-stopping or otherwise) that threads onto the Stihl 5L Motomix cans?
  7. All gone. Arbtalk power! scraggs' trailer is a fine tool and scraggs himself is a fine fellow (not a tool).
  8. Mannequin head mounted on the dashboard?
  9. Easy peasy, Paul. Just accurate felling (most in the slot between house and fence) and the correct tool as a backup. Saved a lot of wedging/pumping and I wasn't taking any chances with the road and wires! My ground anchor is good but when you want confidence, 2+ tonnes of Rover gives it.
  10. You get loose fetlocks.
  11. Your crane trailer setup looks great for the longer sticks. Pickup available tomorrow for godless heathens. I'm off to fall asleep in the bath but will pick up any messages in an hour or so. Call 07929 855913 after 07:00 tomorrow morning if I don't get back to you tonight and you want to be working on Christmas day.
  12. scraggs. Send Ben a PM and get communal. The only sensible way to get it on a grain trailer to get it away in one go would be to leave said trailer on the pavement and load from the raised site (~1m above road level). If you both turn up with 3.5t+3.5t setups, you can drive right up to the the wood, everyone can help each other load and you still all get free stuff. Ben PMed me first but I'm happy for you to have half and half if he is.
  13. I maintain that combi-cans are the biggest waste of money going. Twenty something bloody quid for something that breaks nozzles, spills and frustrates and that you forget you've left the lid off and spill one of the contents all over your arm. I've been running my saws mainly on a Tempranillo/Merlot mix. These pour perfectly (possibly attributable to plenty of practice) and are the least taxed component of any grog purchase.
  14. Handsome young bastard cutting, elderly slave labour and a one armed man on the winch? That was us!
  15. I have available what I estimate to be ~35 ish tonnes of Douglas Fir. My estimate is based on 12 trees; smallest 9", largest 30". A variety of lengths, chogs, rings and poles. I did the maths ages ago. Maybe it's right. Maybe it's not. I can cut it all to handball size or you can get onsite with something with a grab. Site is between Hadleigh and Ipswich in Suffolk. Photo shows the variety of sizes. PM me.
  16. If anyone is a member of a woodworking/turning forum, please cross post this. [email protected] is my e-mail address to save any arsing about with inter-foruming PMs.
