  1. It has no cutters mores the worrying point.....or not as is the case . Never in 50 years did I ever think that I’d ever need to type that .....?!?!? Am I actually dead ?
  2. Oh God thank you for this one mate . My spleens haemorrhaged [emoji23]🤣🤣[emoji23]
  3. Thank Christ you didn’t choose the incongruous antipodean scourge that is bloody Eucalyptus. They stick out on the landscape like a mock Tudor Barratt home in a conservation area [emoji36]🤮
  4. If you Dremel the exhaust out and tune out the ‘h’ it will run the 12” fine, especially on the Panther 1/4 x 0.43 but a) the chains are VERY fiddly to sharpen and b) the bars are made of chocolate. That said, WAY faster cutting speed than the 1/4 x 0.50 options and much smoother pruning
  5. I’ve had the best part of (at a guess) 15 or so pairs of Lavaros (they used to be called Aqua Fells) They take very little breaking in, the soles are incredibly grippy and the Sympatex lining incredibly water resistant . The bulk in the tongues takes some bedding in to get the laces snug but overall a cracking pair of flexible very grippy boots . I am just about to try a different brand as I fancy a change but I bet I regret it (again) . Great boot. Once you get up to speed though you’ll struggle to get more than a year from them .
  6. Blimey !!! [emoji15] That’s impressive . Thank you for sharing that. It’s certainly got my interest [emoji1303]
  7. Bloody hell ....,really ? I know absolutely zilch about the DCS model of which you speak but I’d love to see an a/b comparison of cutting speeds of your 2500t and the 2511t which drops my jaw every day I use it .....in a way that I feel I need to bequeath some of my estate upon death to the wonderful folk on here who recommended it (roll credits ..) Can anything really be better other than a lazer ? (For clarity I have pepped her up slightly as per the usual porn mods ...which I again thank the .....blah blah blah 🤩) But yes....to your point.....imagine an Echo to the standards of those two luminaries , the size of an 020 but with crazy Echo power to weight ration circa 2021 type shiz . I’ll sign up now..!!! [emoji6]
  8. Well I want to see you drop test a Volvo on it else I’ll not be buying one 🤣[emoji23]
  9. To echo what another has said earlier , what might be prohibitive about moving your sons bedroom to the back of the house ? I am of course making an assumption that there is a bedroom to the rear as well. That’s clearly a very easy, cheap and quick answer . I’d guess that now that the tree has been dormant some months that the asthma related issues have disappeared? I guess ultimately you are a custodian of that tree during this chapter of its life despite you being legally it’s owner, but it would be worth considering the overall amenity of the area, the benefit to the air quality overall in the global scale and its positive impact on wildlife locally before you dogmatically gun for its removal when potentially another more positive outcome could be had . As a total personal aside, my son very quickly grew out of his asthma , which is not uncommon . Perhaps if I’d laid waste to a natural structure of this scale for reasons that were either temporary or could have been circumnavigated , I may have been faced with a modicum of guilt after the fact . Just points to consider and not words to beat your brow .
  10. Ahhhh Spuddlington, Because I don’t own a helicoil kit and I’d already drilled and tapped it and had lost confidence in my abilities to make a good repair......plus a Farmertec big bore complete pot n pist is £30 delivered so it’s small outlay versus repair within my confidence levels 🤨 Surely if it wasn’t tuned property a) it wouldn’t have had the plug colour and b) it wouldn’t have cut so well for the last 12 months ?
  11. Yes always owned it. To be honest I only use Stihl purple 2 stroke as a) I’ve never had a problem and only had 1 saw seize in 25 years and more curiously , I have found that these older saws especially the ms200t ran like crap on the green stuff .....in fact the 200 wouldn’t run reliably at all on green so gave 5l away and never a problem on the purple !! 🤷🏼‍♂️
  12. That said the MS200 can do everything the echo can and more ......just flares up the old tennis elbow [emoji30]
  13. Just changing the pot and piston on my 361 as I’d stripped the exhaust mounting thread. What causes this excessive cack? It ran ok but I’ve not seen this ‘crystally ’ type residue on a pot before . Spark plug was a tan colour without looking like it was too lean. The exhaust was a bit wobbly for a while. Any ideas ?
  14. No Khriss.......THESE look stiff ..!!!! [emoji33][emoji15]...🤣
  15. I know you said 5kw but this range is great. Check out the stats at their shop ‘Stoveworld’ I have the smaller 5 kw version but you do have to keep your logs on the 6” ish side hence this 7kw version . That said, it pumps out the heat, is British made and of very thick steel with good rating and heats through our little cottage a treat . Not quite perfect but we’re 3 years in and still love it . Probably put the heating on for the occasional hour here and there if it’s really cold (like minus figures) to reach the furthest corners but usually first thing or if we’ve someone staying . Overall very impressed .
  16. It’s new boot time of year again !! Anyone tried these? I don’t get on with those ultra stiff boots which look like you should be wading along the Mariana Trench with an oxygen line out of your helmet [emoji15] These look like a good cross between a non protective climbing boot and a more sporty chainsaw protective boot for those days when you’d rather not risk a Beech ring crushing your tootsies. AND no Vibram sole which can be sometimes slippy . Any feedback would be warmly received?
  17. I used a pair of surgical fishing forceps and some side cutters gently holding each end. We each had a pair and wrestled the two ends like a pair of mating Grebes !! 🤣
  18. Hear hear [emoji1307][emoji1319]
  19. Well yes you were right on both counts. Fitting new spring in a wood with rudimentary tools was interesting but between two of us we nailed it relatively quickly and now the little saw jogs on a treat. Possibly only going to be any good for sitting next to the chipper but it’s not bad for a freebie. Thanks for your sage advice once again Spuddles 🥔
  20. Can someone help ? I’m trying to replace the top pads on my old Distel Carbon gaffs. Does anyone know if the new version pad and straps fit my older version pictured? I’m drawing blanks thus far with the suppliers I’ve tried
