  1. Thanks for the reply taken on board, I am leaning towards 362 as I have seen quit a few threads on here regarding the problems with the261
  2. The reason for stihl is the dealer is very close the nearest husky dealer is about 55 mile away
  3. As the title says , I am after a new saw and drawn to the 261or 362 I am a light user but I want one that will run an 18 inch bar at the moment I have ms 170and ms 250 it has to be stihl as dealer is around the corner, thanks for any input:001_smile:
  4. I'm in the same position work alone and off the beaten track, touch wood nothing has gone wrong but if it did I would get my location of my GPS

I also have the fs 460 which has only been run on pump fuel that is fine , but the 490 would just bog down for the first couple of seconds when pulling the trigger in , I know a couple of seconds is not a lot but when in the forest its a pain I will say when running on aspen once it was at the right revs blipping the throttle it responded alot better than the 460
  6. Fair point the only time I use them is to sharpen the blade on my clearing saws.

  9. Just bought a fs 490 and was running it on aspen from the off, what I noticed was that it was sluggish on pick up after a couple of days I forgot the tub of aspen so had to put pump fuel in it after a couple of tanks the pick up was fine any thoughts?
  10. I cut thousands of them down a day all different sizes problem is I think the cost of posting would kill it
  11. Definitely needs to be quicker, I have them over here working in the forest and does seem painfully slow.
  12. The price in finland is 18 euro 14.63 pounds if I buy more it will be 17 euro13.82 pound.
  13. I do between 60 /80 hectares a year with clearing saw, I have tried husqvarna chainsaw wellies but feet do get sore after a while, at the moment I have got walking boots, but no protection if anything goes wrong , plus I work in the middle of nowhere sometimes so a bit worrying.
  14. Hi, just a quick question, I use a clearing saw for most of my work, so what is the best safety boot to go for, are chainsaw boot the best option, thanks

Two weeks ago I slipped whilst using clearing saw, fell on to the handle a broke one of my ribs, the worrying part was when I fell the throttle dug in the ground and the trigger stayed on and my left foot was about 1 inch from the rotating blade, so my question is what is the best boots to wear.
  16. I live in a small village in Finland and have been trying to find some aspen, went to the village shop today and in a corner they had 4 tubs of aspen, now I have 4 tubs in my garage result, and the shop owner is going to re order for me.
  17. If this counts, I have worked for harry styles step dad and mum, saying that robin his step dad is a good friend of mine
  18. Out in 8/10 weeks then, pto punishment sound better and with lasting effect.
  19. 60% clearing saw 40%planting and 10%chainsaw work, and busy until the snow is to deep
  20. Been here five years love to ski and love the winter,bought snow mobile last year to help in the forest retrieve some tree length, working in the forest with a metre of snow and minus 35 is fun:001_smile:
