  1. Should have added....a 2D drawer
  2. Anyone know of a free and simple download for drawing out plans of planting schemes, woods etc?
  3. Bit of a sweeping statement. Perhaps... "I must tell you boys now youve got the ticket if you get caught using a top handle saw on the ground by HSE you may be prosecuted and may get fined a £1000" would have been better:confused1:
  4. Does anyone know the LAW on this? Are you breaking a LAW selling a top handle to anyone without the tickets? Are you breaking the LAW by using one on the ground? OR are you going against manufacturers/industry guidelines or contravening insurance conditions? (This is a plea for FACT, not supposition) Promise I will stop using uppercase so much in future!
  5. Yep, similar. Mine appeared paler coloured more like a battery egg yolk than a garden chicken egg yolk (but that may be the pic). I'm sure/I think you could JUST see remnants of the internal structure of the root, but the walls were still intact. No above ground fungus noticed, but to be fair I wasnt searching. Pray tell???????????
  6. Neither unfortunately. The substance we found was growing below ground within the walls of a hazel root.
  7. Glad yr OK but what if you raise £5K? Lets hope it a waste of money for you:thumbup:
  8. On my LR's, if there is an electrical fault, 1st job...........CHECK THE EARTH. Amazing how often poor earths throw up unexpected symptoms.
  9. Nice and earthy... How about using 'block' colours instead of graded tones. Cheaper to reproduce and clearer? (BTW this is not criticism)
  10. Not working IN the water at all as margins steeply sloping. Banks fairly clear and not muddy.
  11. Man pull or Tirfor

  14. Not a climber and dont have access to one as this is a voluntary job.
  15. Or this? (Although not sure if I could get front cuts in on some?)
  16. Presume its the 2nd one I would do with a plunge if I am understanding correctly? Would you need to strap round to prevent barbers chairing?
  17. Will do:thumbup1:
  18. Cheers BUT cant get a face cut/gob in
  19. The trees are growing on the edge of a steeply sloping margin.
  20. Have some medium size willow/alder/syc to drop into pond (they are at a 45 degree angle over the pond). Cant get access to do a gob and remaining stump is not important . Any ideas? (I am familiar with bore-cutting and barber-chairing etc)
  21. A friend of mine (sadly recently departed) had to sit through a speed awareness course. Encyclopedia of Automotive Engineering He never mentioned his job!
  22. Whilst digging a woodland track the other day, through a blackthorn thicket, noticed something very odd indeed. As the digger bucket withdrew, I saw a lemon curd like substance which filled the interior of a damaged blackthorn root. Jelly like and 'lemon curdy' in colour. I wondered if any of you knowledgeble chaps/chapesses could help in identifying said jelly?
  23. Have just been sent a flyer for this. It may be of interest. ignite Firewood Production and Supply | Yorwoods
