  1. Something else we discussed previously. My use of a corner trap to hold the Oxan firm and straight. Granted, the Oxan can still rotate in the HH but I've now found that if it's held firmly at this end, it's about 80% better overall. That's how it feels to me anyway and for only 80p. 2. Today I've repositioned my Sidewinder slightly more towards the back but more significantly I've re-route the lanyard through the smaller of the exit holes. There is now a straight line from Sidewinder to Cinch and although there is some friction with the small hole, I think there was more before because I have the unit high on my harness so that I could use the gear loop. I've also replaced the zip ties with non replaceable ones to get a flatter fit. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  3. That's the one Tony. I like the idea because it avoids toothed ascenders and the minor hassle of clipping one on and off. Let us know if you try it. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  4. I've been wearing one for months and it's worth every penny. The ventilation is better than all other helmets. :thumbup1:
  5. I heard of a guy down south that bought about six of them and really rate them. He's not on Arbtalk though.
  6. I have mine set up exactly the same way Adam. I've tinkered with alternative attachments but always revert to this with the Lyon sling. The only difference is I clip to the bridge ring now. As Tony mentioned, a lot of the US guys are loving HRC hitch cord but we can't get it here. Earlier on this thread someone posted a photo and video of himself using a Metolius daisy chain as a foot loop / tether combo. I have yet to try this but I think it would suit me well. Any one else tried it?
  7. I'm sure this has been asked before and I've even asked two of my friends (legal professionals) and got two different answers. In a residential environment, who owns which fence? ie: With your back to the house looking into the back garden? Also, looking into the front garden? I've Googled for the answer and on a fencing expert forum, members kept repeating that it is who ever can see the arris rails is the owner as the posts denote the boundary. To me, this would apply to Featheredge but could not apply to Lap Panel. Any words of wisdom appreciated.
  8. I had a Griffen case and while it's a great protector and doesn't inhibit the phones functions, I couldn't deal with the bulk. My friend loves his though. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  9. That is the best I've ever seen. Never mind the colours, I've always wondered why no one put a yacht clutch on a bollard. Brilliant. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  10. Quality! Lucky boy. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  11. I have a dealer five minutes from home who stocks tools and no spares at all. When a tool breaks on a job need to be able to go to a dealers website using my smart phone and order for next day delivery. If I can't order on line I won't be buying another Stihl tool, ever. By the way, I was just about to buy two new Stihl long hedge cutters. I don't think they will be Stihl now. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  12. Wot he said. Good intelligent post Marcus. It's the same syndrome as the RopeKnight, precision engineering in low numbers. This is the same in all industries, not just Arb. Cheers Al. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  13. What he said. If you list all your gear here the thread will get closed. Arbtalk would be my first stop. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  14. Didn't take a photo today cos rain was so heavy. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  15. I tried exactly the same thing as DMc, made from a Cobra insert thing. Once cut to the right size it was easy to clip in and out of and acted like a mediocre corner trap. But, because I use a Lyon sling as a chest harness, the chest biner was in line with the loop, unlike Dave's chest clip. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  16. On one of his videos they're removing a large tree next to house. One guy operating the crane from the tree and one guy loading a big chipper with that mini loader. A big tree down and gone fast with two men and almost no physical effort. Very impressive. I'm even more envious!
  17. I'll post a photo tomorrow guys. In the mean time, The corner trap holds the Oxan firm against the bridge ring so this end is straight. Of course, the Oxan can still rotate in the HH but I found that if one end is held firm, the other end doesn't move nearly as much. Therefore, the whole thing, bridge ring - Oxan - HH, is held in line more easily and so it has a reduced chance of cross loading. When i used to clip into a a progress loop that I put on the HH I found that the loop got pulled more on one side. This is because the chest harness biner is sideways so it tries to turn the loop and HH a bit. Progress up the rope was not always free so I went to the bridge ring instead. Sure, I have to manually advance the HH that last little bit but I don't worry about that.
  18. All the more reason why you should have posted it. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  19. I've done away with the tending tether as I clip into the bridge ring now instead. I got some little red biner corner traps from Honey Brothers. About 80p each, a tight fit, seem strong and hold the Oxan biner firmly on the bridge ring. It's a much better and safer way. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  20. Seems I didn't try hard enough to get the 10mm AP in the dog bone but the 8mm seems great so far. I also did two days with I tied as a Knut and that was definitely better than the half VT. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  21. No. 10mm Beeline fits easily. 10mm Armor Pruss has no chance. Different ropes have different thicknesses, despite what they apparently measure. I don't know much more than that because I have not used any others yet. DMc might be able to enlighten you more.
  22. What size compressor do you guys use for powering a nail gun? I've just got a 24 litre 1.5hp Stanley compressor and thinking of getting an air nail gun but not sure of all the ins and outs. Thanks. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  23. Looks good. Thank god you got the picnic bench in. 😄👍 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  24. I had a few shots with the vinyl sleeve the other day. The RK came out the BigShot well and appeared to fly straight with it on. The first shot was on target but underpowered. The second shot missed because I didn't hold the BigShot steady. The third shot had to penetrate some thrift on the way up but was as perfect as could be. Anyone else use the vinyl sleeve much and with what results? Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  25. What size compressor is needed to run a nail gun? I've looked online but couldn't find the answer. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
