Im not sure if it will pull together and make retrieving hard, will test it out today. Not sure if I will use it as RG still lovin the cocoon(wouldn't mind one of your caps/cones though!), think I might use it as retrievable rigging point or for setting up rescue config's, lifts etc.

Hey Drew, just wondering what your thoughts are on setting up pinto with this config... to me it seems that it won't load the pinto in any wrong way.. your thoughts?

Nice one bro! looks good as! ... better than a cocoon for RG aye?
  11. nice work high scale! what do you dip the exposed eyes in to protect them?
  12. Thanks mate! Yeah I found that as well.. slight dent/bump but its not too bad, compared to other cords I found it very hard/stiff. But is does work well for the Multi Sling and Ring Loops I made, I would rather splice Armor Prus but Its so expensive! I use twink to mark the rope (Sirius) then once the twink drys you can rub it off.. just like new again! Whats the latest "old snake" splicing product!! ??
  13. Just thought I'd mention that wellington city council will be advertising for a arborist to join their tree team, keep an eye out will prob be on trade me in the next couple/few weeks
  14. Any one got any tips for splicing 8mm sirius? im finding it a lot harder to splice than 8mm Armor Prus
  15. Just got some sirius to make some rope tools with, have trouble splicing it though seems to bunch up alot at the cross over when Im pulling it through with my wire fid. I am using class 1 Double Braid splice. Seems a lot tougher to splice then 8mm armor prus any tips would be good
  16. Cheers for that and nice work on the breaks!
  17. Nice work mate! thats an awsome break! Class 1 as well!! How long are you bury's? P.s Nice work BenR, make sure you keep that whipping close to the eye
  18. Hey, anyone have any experience with bridge grafting? Trying to save a ring barked Norfolk island pine... any comments would be much appreciated
  19. Good splicing = practice and patience or you mean testing:confused1:
  20. Yes did the class 1 and 2 on each end of AP just for experimental purposes as the proper splice for the cord is class 2. Im pretty sure that spark is rated to 2800kg... so 2400kg break is pretty good for splice retained almost all the strength in the rope, almost. No worries, will post more results when Ive done some more tests
  21. I don't think you can get it in the uk.... But you could possibly get some through - Treetools | tree climbing, rigging, pruning and safety equipment -
  22. Nice works Rich. 16strand is nice to splice especially donaghys spark
