  1. Nice one mate:) yeah long stretches of roads them. Think the a28 near Chilham was shut today.
  2. Lol yeah more than likely. But I think that's what brought them out and about to be honest.
  3. You Must of been driving on roads with no trees, passed at least 10 tree teams today all working away don't normally see any. Covered some miles today though about 230 i think.
  4. Well after a bit of a crap start to the day after the break in. It turned into our most profitable day to date. Loads of call outs mostly in the dartford erith area. Now on the a2 heading home. job one three four And 7 other little jobs just picking up broken limbs from the ground. Loads more booked in for tomorrow just ran out of day light today. Good day for us but upsetting that people still lost their life's in the incidents up and down the country.
  5. Horror to find all the alarms smashed this morning with all the gear lined up ready to go, some one had fun and luckily it looks as though they were disturbed. Very strange when you come through the gate and just think ummmm something's not quite rite. Doesn't look like any thing has been taken thankfully. Just what we needed today. What perfect cover the storm has given for potential thieves. Hope every one has a safe and busy day. Just waiting for the police then hopefully we can get out.
  6. Having been climbing full time for almost three years I would say that I'm fairly proficient BUT there are still so many things I haven't encountered and had the experience of dealing with. I started as the main full time climber for my firm after only a couple of days ground work experience (literally two days). I think being Thrown into the deep end some times has its benefits however looking back in this circumstance it's not the case. Three years on if presented with a task then nine times out of ten I can handle the situation in safe manner and get home to dinner each night I might not be the quickest and there will always be different ways of handling it. So in short yes I think that five years is a minimum time to achieve both experience and proficiency. For my self I have a lot of the correct areas but lack in others so the next two years will be spent combating those points.
  7. It must be the ultimate in apprenticeships working for you as a young lad.
  8. Our 260s are the same more much more reliable than the 261. That's why we are going to try the huskys.
  9. Oh rite lol. No not lucky enough to live and work in the same town. Like most we go where the work is London Essex East Sussex and North and west kent..
  10. Yeah of course will get it when I'm next in the office. Might not be until Tuesday tho.
  11. Yeah £7 isn't a problem but it should still last longer than a day. Didn't no about the recall is it worth a call to stihl as the warranty on the saw runs out next month.
  12. Hi jonny, we have a new transit that constantly looks like that and was looking into having the springs uprated, after speaking to a guy at the arb show this year who recommended a company in London. Our bosses are not convinced tho as it still doesn't make it any more legal just make it look legal. And that was my argument exactly it makes it look legal reducing the chance of being pulled by vosa on the M20.
  13. Clutch housing needle bearings and clutch springs and sounds like a bag of the proverbial.
  14. Yeah a definite no to the 261 ours is off for its third warranty outing in as many months. Hoping that they are going to just replace the saw for us. But I doubt it.
  15. Out of curiosity how did you know where the job is I work all over three counties in the south east?
  16. Yeah that's thanet waste thought of them on the way home today and will make a call to them tomorrow.
  17. Pricing a job at the moment at a primary school. 37 pines approximately 6' diameter up to about 70' tall. Waste is a major issue. Quick call to stobarts and within a hour had a return call from Neil stobart have got a site meeting with them and they are looking to do the chipping and loading for us. Bit of a result if we win the work.
  18. Cheers, was a swine to sand covered in Lino adhesive when we brought the house. Pure sacrilege covering the original pine boards.
  19. Thanks for the posts gents. Here's my little 5kw euroheat. When the heat gets so unbearable in the front room we open the door and heats most of down stairs aided by the open fire in the dinning room. borrowed the thermal image Camara from the station on Saturday and log burner was showing 215 degrees C. Toasty.
  20. Yeah that's how I'm finding it easiest to achieve an overnight burn. Cheers mark.
  21. Umm not quite the response I was after but thanks anyway
  22. Evening stove lovers. Just enquiring to how long you keep yours burning for with out letting the embers completely die. Just mastering the overnight shutdown on mine and it has now been roaring away 24 7 since Saturday. Loads of lovely heat throughout the down stairs. Thanks mark.
  23. It's not just the time it's the energy saved for two men marching up and down all day. Wouldn't mind seeing that in action! Cheers boys well impressed.
