  1. That's one close shave.Must of been a crap your pants moment. Hope your ok and heal up quick.
  2. Haven't got a tree above my chimney but the other week had abit of rain and fairly strong wind with the log burner going in the lounge and smoke was traveling nicely to the stack but being forced back down the other pot into the bedroom. Much to my mrs dismay. So yeah it is possible. Got a cowl fitted to the other pots now so don't have any issues. Just to make sure it wasn't the chimney structure at fault I borrowed the thermal image Camara from the station and checked the internal walls for excess heat. So yeah it's possible just doesn't happen often.
  3. Lol, have been contacting Ben, and I'm going to order a gransfors wild life hatchet from him in the new year. (Late Christmas present)
  4. Just won this on eBay for £8. What are your thoughts. Yeah it old and a bit ragged but should be good for a practice on the shave horse. http://bit.ly/IiCf1n
  5. Sorry to hear that mate. So much of it at the moment in the south east corner.
  6. Still looking for this copy if any one wants to give theirs up. Thanks mark.
  7. Sling two half hitches and timber hitch. I'd of thrown in a couple of bowlines to make sure.
  8. I have been reading a lot of books and watching a fair few vids on green woodworking, I'm looking to get my hands some fairly cheap basic tools to get started ie draw knife carving axe and maybe a froe. As Im very inexperienced with it all I don't want to spend the earth so if any one has any of the above just laying around gathering dust and taking up precious work shop space then I'll gladly provide them with a new home. Thanks mark
  9. Lol yeah mate it's a family sick day today all four of us feeling sorry for each other. Will have to kick the mrs out in a bit for lucozade and chicken soup, It's the only cure!
  10. Been on the sofa all night. Flu ridden. Lovely and warm though

    Pro!

Me to. Liking his multi purpose painting/tree climbing gear.
  12. Yes mate you can. Will find a vid on it and post the link.
  13. Hopefully Paul. Iv taken to this much quicker than I did on the hitch climber when I first tried that I hated it and stuck it back in my kit bag for about six months. Can't see it happening this time. .
  14. Just had a solid 5 hours on the spider. Think I'm there with the control of it and I'm loving it!
  15. The positioner I love but still finding descending on the spider hard to control . But sure I will get there.
  16. Yeah have watched the spiderjackery vid and said on there on the importance of using both.
  17. Bit over edited would love to see longer clips so I can see what's going on.
  18. Had a little play on the spider today. Only a small sycamore dismantle. Love the self tending and going up. Coming downs a bit jerky but with today's appalling conditions I expected nothing less.
  19. Just hoping I take to it like the hitch climber.
  20. Yeah positioner is packed and ready to go.
