  4. Hi like it, there is now a remedy that Sthil have come up with to stop that happening as it was a common problem. Ask at your dealership you may be able to buy it and fix it yourself. Rob. And hey climb safe out there.
  5. Getting back to the original question, the guy i use for most of my gear does everything from a full chainsaw, blower, hedge trimmer service to welding, engineering new, or modifying, to all my mot prep work including servicing. He even does my chipper, blades etc. Now thats what i call a mechanic. He was trained in car mechanics many years ago. Then worked with small plant. Even a stint in welding and fabricating etc etc. Hes bwiliant. He is also quick to respond. He does the work at my home with me as the grease monkey so i know its been done right plus i am learning from him. Oh and Hey climb safe out there.
  6. Well hi Landy lover,s, I to have a 130 with tipper and locker box best thing since sliced bread. Did have a lovely 110 till some scrotes stole it a few years ago. I really love mine like you say easy to maintain and i find cheap to run. It has a 300 tdi so pulls like a train. Very reliable. I have a winch to fit to the front but i,d also like to have some extra conections for a log splitter etc. It was driven originally by a front prop but was missing when i bought it, the guy i bought it off said he,d get me a pump etc and fit for me, i,ve now given up on him as he just dont come up with the goods. I have pump some pipes. I need a tank and some other bits n bobs. Love some feed back from you guys and some contacts for the technical side of fitting it. Cheers for know, Oh and hey climb safe out there.

  9. Hi all, i,ve just had a bout of ODTS, Doc said i had a chest infection so put me on antibiotics, finished them now but still not 100%. We have been and purchased 5 masks this morning 1 each and a couple of spares. My sister has had chips off me before for her chickens and it effects them to when chips are fresh. I have always been very carefull chip dust (spores) when tipping loads etc but now making sure we are all safe. Just a secoundary point, should we go back to burning?? And hey climb safe out there.
  10. It aint such a young mans game. Training, kit maintenance and experience goes a long way. When i started 33 years ago most of us older climbers would have loved kit like he had. Sorry to have to say though most accidents i hear of these days are younger men with all the kit. But hey Climb safe out there.
  11. Hi Kev i,ve got a cheapo 4 tonne splitter. I split about 5 cube, ish a year with mine cost me £89.99 about 3 years ago. I split knotty stuff to with it. Only thing is it is low to the ground and 2 handed operation. You can get a stand. If you split when timber is still green it wont fly. Got mine from Screw Fix. I used to split by hand for sale to as part of winter business. Got mine for home so i do not anoy neighbours its great. Still trying to get me mrs to use it though.
  12. Hi guys, not on here as often as i should these days. Back in November 2009 i had my tiberwolf taken off my drive at home all locked up and jamed in. They forced the door top on my wife,s car to move that, then they pushed it back when they went. 13 months later had my landrover defender taken off same drive all locked and chained to other heavy stuff etc. Got locks off some how they had tried to cut them first but could,nt. Then last January they tried to nick my mitsibishi but the alarm went off and they fled. Called police for what its worth they reckoned i had to been followed around and they,d seen tools etc comming out of the back and new what was in there. Everything is all alarmed and imobelised and chained up so much it takes me ages unlocking in morning and locking at night. One story i heard is the police know who is doing this but are scared to aproach them. A guy whom does my kit servicing etc had his workshop and over £20.000 worth of gear nicked in under 4 minutes yes you did read right under 4 mins. What can we do if they still pinch stuff with the security we have now?? CCTV i hear you say huh some one had top spec cctv installed and he got robbed. Great footage see his face, and well known. Was seen walking back down the guys drive with several chainsaws. Police said cant do nothing as when he left he had his hood up and you could not see his face. What a load of SH1T. Think they want us to catch them and sit on them and they just pick them up. OH when we have time we,r real busy right now. I do hope you others whom have not had stuff nicked never do. And hey climb safe out there.
  13. Nice vid. Love the young guys music, who is the artist? i want that track. Funky old dude me. Great job, nice video keep em cummin.
  14. Do you think they where up there ilegally?? I think so. Was waiting for one of them to slip and laugh it off. Frightened me to death watching. Hope they got down ok.

  17. Shame about haveing to sell your Mog. Over the years i have had 2, U 1100, then a U 1250 both had hiab,s the latter a Hiab 350 the best piece of kit i ever had. Times and types of job change. I now run a Defender 130 tipper with 3.5 tonne trailer. The big jobs just are,nt there often enough now.
  18. Real sorry to hear your bad news mate. I had my Timberwolf Chipper taken 9/11/09, following year 1/12/10 my Landy went with all my gear and i mean every thing. Was like a mobile workshop full of my stuff. Then last January someone tried to pinch my Pajero. All these were parked on my drive at home under my bedroom window. Worst thing is all was chained and locked with several locks and chains. My alarm saved my pajero though. Like you said coppers dont give a sh1t.
  19. No worries about altering the shute all the time, spreads great like that. LOL. Just goes to show how basic the humble chipper started life.
  20. Hi all, my first post on here. With regaurds to white finger, sounds like i am lucky, 31 years in business now and i can say i do not suffer from this at all. May be because i wear gloves all the time. Well for the last 10 years or so.
