  1. Yes, this is the same with zetors-pull like nothing else, someone told me that they are generally heavier for their horsepower they use lots of steel, 'if you can't tie knots just tie lots' or use lots, lesser quality steel so need more of it. Doesn't bother me, a light tractor is no use to anyone unless you are crossing a bog!
  2. Funny,I thought you seems quite a chilled out fella when I met you! Must be utterly frustrating though and surprised people can keep at it really.
  3. Yes, I had a 7045 and a 9540, both had the potential to be good basic tractors but I had to give up on them in the end as I do a fair bit of roadwork (fencing contractor) and the brakes were just too unreliable and dangerous, I re did all the brakes with new parts- still rubbish! Got a Same and that stops on the spot- different ballgame with proper 4 wheel braking- not just through the 4wd system like a lot of other tractors.
  4. No direct experience of them (had a few zetors) but think they generally started improving from the 90s onward, with anything before this being similar to zetors- generally not short of metal and good enough but poor quality components letting them down. New zetors are meant to be phenomenal tractors, perhaps the same can be said for Belarus but iv not ever seen a Belarus dealer around so parts could be tricky to get hold off?
  5. Yes, particularly when you think that getting 4000hrs out of these machines should be pretty hassle free, whereas I'd like to see a 6" chipper after 4000hrs!
  6. http://www.sanyglobal.com/handbook/SY16C.pdf Spec sheet too. Approx £3k cheaper than a Takeuchi tb216. Tempting but would want to have a good go and look around one first.
  7. Damn, just ordered a nilfisk! Those petrol ones do look good, normally I run a mile at non branded engines, but in this case I wouldn't mind as it will only be occasional use.... and if yours has been good...
  8. Your a star:thumbup1: thanks, that'll do me nicely.
  9. I thought I had nearly made up my mind till I started this thread:laugh1: Probably between the karcher K4@ £180 of the nilfisk e140.9 @£260- both would probably do my needs fine.
  10. Stihl seem to get good reviews so may be worth a bash, nilfisk seem quite good too.
  11. Looking for an electric pressure washer- principally for in the garden, getting algae off sheds/stonework,garden furniture etc, don't want anything pathetic and needs enough power to blast mud under chassis/machinery too. Probably looking to spend around £200ish...
  12. I suspect it's worth what ever the job requires, if it's just the right machine to do a given job it's worth more than if it was doing something that any old machine could do(whatever that was!) Avant are far more speacialist than diggers and could probably command more money even if machine purchase price is same or less.
  13. Did that price for the digger include a haulage cost, haulage is usually around £50 an hour so could have been a fair bit of that cost if in included delivery/collection? Otherwise I would say that was very steep for just a 5 tonner and operator, particularly if it's just with a bucket and no specialist attachments. I'd say your price for the Avant and 2 blokes sounds about right myself.
  14. Oh right, Tb125 will be a good upgrade then. The tb125 weighs 200kg more than the kx61-3, has longer reach, wider track base and has more swing/overhang, better balance. Also Takeuchi tb125 had 35mm bucket pins whereas kx61-3 only has 30mm- which may mean you can use all your existing attachments easily enough? The kx71-3 is the same weight as the Takeuchi (2790kg before quick hitch, larger buckets etc) so yes you can tow it if you have one of the modern plant trailers which are being built to accommodate such machines...just:laugh1:
  15. Well don't keep us waiting- I can't figure it out for love or money!
  16. Is there any way of activating the aux hydraulics so it's free flow and you can use an external spool like on a log splitter for example? This in a way is why I prefer the aux on a pedal so I can jam a bit of wood under it and use external attachments... other than that thumb controls all the way.
  17. I have the Takeuchi tb125- can't kill the thing! It's a very stable machine, pretty basic but they are all getting on a bit now so not really sure if it would offer much over your kubota really- in fact I'm the other way round, quite fancy trading in for a new kx71-3, but the Takeuchi never gives me any bother just looks a bit rough now and could do with a few bushes replacing etc
  18. Thanks to all who have sent PMs about the saw, cos there is quite a bit of interest I will put it on Arbtrader with pictures/price etc tomorrow, if still interested then we can go from there. Thanks
  19. I have a 395xp which I will be selling with a 20, 28 and 36 inch bar and chain. I brought it new in 2009 and they are still all the original chains, probably used 3 times a year and is in excellent condition. PM me if interested but I will be putting in on Arbtrader in the next few days. Cheers
  20. Pictures
  21. So sorry to hear of your loss- nice epitaph to him! This nutjob tests my patience daily too, but would be lost without him.
  22. Each to their own but I reckon that's a bloke- look at the size of 'her' feet:laugh1:
  23. Actually I'm surprised the NHS can still keep going, when you consider how many operations per day costing potentially thousands, plus GP practises etc etc. My experiace with the NHS last year when my daughter was born, a pretty traumatic delivery requiring c section and intensive care etc, was absolutely outstanding, and she probably wouldn't be with us now if it hadn't been for their diligence and efficiency. My wife worked for NHS for 7 years though so I have heard about the other side of the coin too. Personally. I don't really see why there shouldn't be a small fee (even a tenner) to see your GP- might cut out a lot of times wasters and hypochondriacs. I know I know, it may prevent people going when they really should! But something like that after all we all depend on it when we really need it.
  24. Western morning news or the Tavistock times is about as far as I get with newspapers!
  25. Forestry contractor down here has a winch on his 13tonne, the winch itself is mounted on the machine base unit, with a redirect pulley mounted high up on the boom which takes the cable up high -kinda like a skyline, he uses the bucket to anchor everything- has a hell of a pull.
