1. Exactly my thoughts. Hands chopped off and left for the crows would be my prefeeed choice for these types. Waste of air and tax money.
 2. Sorry didn't see the build pictures which answers my questions- surprising amount of space inside.
 3. That looks like a really tidy professional job. Do you sleep above the cab leaving the bed for living/cooking space? What is the body made off?
 4. This is the only photo which shows anything is wrong. And the fact that when you pull the tow bar there is a good inch of movement in the whole Dixon hate/chassis connection. I'm just glad I caught it in time
 5. Was towing my digger yesterday and thought the dampener must have gone on the trailer as it felt very jerky. I have a Dixon bate towbar fitted and turns out one of the bolts has pull through the rear crossmember and anothe has pulled the anchoring bolt out the bottom too, the two bracing bars had pulled the bolts which goes though the main chassisbrail about 10mm through the steel- visibly I would never have noticed but it's quite a sorry state and reckon another few journeys would have seen the trailer pull the whole thing off. It was a new rear crossmember 5 years ago but reckon its going to need some either a new one or at least a fair bit of plating to put it right
 6. Yes I'd expect the new ones would be that kind of money. At that money I'd have serious considerations of Buying a transit connect or even panel can and kitting it all out myself- still has to been insured taxed and maintained though. Could be good fun designing and building your own top and could get it just how you want it. No news on trailer, Cctv is being checked but gone rather quiet on the police front too. il follow it up on Monday but guess the horse has bolted now:mad1:
 7. That's interesting, I was diagnosed with under active thyroid 8 years ago and will be on pills for the rest of my life despite showing no obvious physical signs of being under (almost opposite in fact) I have days and some times weeks where I feel so fed up and deflated in general, very irritable but like eggs I really have nothing to be moaning about- I always tended to put it down to self employment and basically having my brain so active about work stuff all the time that I could think of little else. Do you have many hobbies or pastimes eggs? If so try and focus on these.. although that said when I'm down I struggle to even enthuse about them. As much as I don't really like everything being given a label I'm sure there is a direct correlation between weather and wellbeing- call it S.A.D if you must!
 8. I have thought about these in the past, I think I came to the conclusion that the space would be so small it'd be hardly worth it. I can definitely see the appeal and saves running a seperate vehicle and being on a 4x4 it'd be good for sneaking into areas you might not otherwise get to. Do you know what sort of money they are?
 9. Yes, totally agree. Buying new works out a lot cheaper in the long run, buy a used one and you will perhaps need to get braking system services plus new tyres, new floor etc and it still will look like a used trailer. Buy new if you can and lock it up to the hilt, wheel clamps, hitch lock, get it sign written, anything to prevent an easy theft.
 10. Look at Bateson or Nugent , from what I have seen they look like really good quality. Are you buying new? I wouldn't say that IW were much dearer when new but perhaps hold their value better than other makes. Iv just had a Ifor Williams nicked, possibly more likely than other makes, who knows.
 11. Can't lose! I went with a Nilfisk in the end, appears to be good quality and works well enough but kind of wish I had gone a petrol one like Bobs
 12. Thanks Steve, will do.
 13. Thanks Beau, yes, Jess is going to share it on Facebook (I don't really have much to do with FB). Police have taken the details and will get back to me - there are cctv cameras everywhere as you might expect from where my yard is, just have to hope it caught them. They took the plant trailer but there was a digger auger there too and another flatbed trailer neither which were touched but expecting them to return.
 14. Hoped I'd never have to use this bit of the forum- but just had my new ifor plant trailer taken over the weekend. So keep your gear safely covered, it's too easy to be blasé about it- I was.
 15. There's a video on YouTube of a Exac1 shear on a 1.5tonner- incredible what that can achieve on such a small machine.
 16. This would be done when engine has been turned off surely? In which case I don't see it being a problem. Iv had a problem very similar to this with my landrover- none of the obvious things made any difference, I pretty much stripped the entire cooling system and replaced water pump, p gasket- flushed rad etc, new header tank and cap, list goes on. Ruddy thing still would creep up after travelling for half an hour, bizarrely it ended up being the Chassis earth strap not making good contact/corroded. Cleaned it up and solved the problem! Not sure if it's the same on a land cruise but just a thought
 17.

Hi Scott,

Hope all is well, it's Matt here from Bramdean days! I assume you are the same Scott Brown not just a coincidence.

Good to hear you are doing tree work now, what made you leave the army?

I don't tend to do much tree work anymore, did it for 8 years and set up on my own in 2009 but my business tended to evolve away from the trees and more into digger work, agricultural fencing and the like.

You living in Exeter area? All the best Matt

 18. Can someone remind me of the deal on these Sanys. Thanks. I want a 1.6tonner but lack of local dealership would put me off these a bit I think.
 19. Mine is about £90 per working day, running a 3 tonner with trailers and attachments etc, tractor and postrammer and Landy.i have no staff. That's diesel, finance, maintenance cost, yard, insurance and a fairly modest amount on advertising- I believe your work should be your main advertising when you have been running long enough. There are always going to be variables to determine an exact day to day running cost, such as depreciation calculations and diesel usage etc.
 20. Yeah, that's big enough all right! Hope you get her back in action soon.
 21. Well done on the recovery, £15k , guess lucky to at least be near a road, just imagine if it had been up on moorland or something. Flipping scumbags though.
 22. Bloody hell, that's absolutely gutting, sorry to see that. But hope insurance is swift and forthcoming. I assume it was in no way self propelling- which begs the question how do you go about recovering something that big?
 23. Fair enough, I'd have thought if you had all your statements and receipts to prove how could they take issue? If that is the case though would they also take issue if you were running one account for personal and business, because if so I can't see why they'd take issue running 2 of the same. At the end of the day there is nothing they can do about it if you can prove you are not cheating the system and in the case of the sole trader staring out many of his expenditures may be both business and personal- i.e. Running a pickup or buying a new laptop etc
 24. to make it not so obvious you are running a business from a personal account, and if one does get funny about it you have the other as a back up. It's a lot of faffing around come accounts time and I wouldn't want to do it now but an option for those just starting out as they can easily open another personal account and make it appear to the bank like it is just that rather than suddenly feeding lots of cheques in but no Tesco shops!
 25. Laziness. And for me I can't be bothered to have new invoice pads made up and inform regular customer who have me already setup for payments etc. But yes you are right
