  1. I bought a mountfield ride on new, it's done well but id buy a Honda if I were buying again.
  2. I can understand why Riko is defensive regarding your comments, real world user reviews are very powerful. I am getting up the courage to splash £2500++ with them on a saw bench and other stuff, on reading your negative comments it put me right off. Rikos side helped sway me back so I was interested to know a bit more. Seeing what you have had to do to the trailer supports to make it so that you can use it is pretty disheartening for a potential Riko customer.
  3. Theocus, you have kinda avoided any mention of fiddling with the relief valve or not? --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?hvk0xn
  4. The amount of discs you can cut on one tank of fuel with a 660 and a 20" bar always amazes me! --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?gw5ckh
  5. If you split it small then 6 months is passable, but if there is any size to the log at all then it wont be dry in the middle after 6 months. Unless its been in a pollytunnel etc. very much a how longs a peice of string question as there are so many variables.
  6. iPhone with a Griffin case. only pain in the arse is if you press and hold the main button it activates voice control. When in my pocket working, with gloves etc you hear ... Voice Activation... Dialing "some random client"!! So you have to pull off gloves, open pocket and cancel it! --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?i42cnb

  9. You want to light it from the base so you get the whole length lit. 3ft works well.
  10. Erm, whats going on! so far this week I have taken orders for 26 cubic meters of hardwood logs.... its not cold over here, wet and windy as ever. If i didnt ache so much id do a little dance in celebration! lol To be fair i do know whats going on, its repeat business and a huge number of recommendations. Also you gotta love those hand made log stores, when friends of the clients see them they are straight on the phone. I try not to make one that takes less than 3 cubes ;-) Happy days.
  11. My customers are placing orders for cubes of green logs to season for next year now. Got my first pre order in Early Jan.

  14. Hi All, I was wondering if anyone is making log baskets or if anyone knows of somewhere to buy them with a view of retailing them on?
  15. In my favour with planning i have entered the Government Subsidised Small Forestry Scheme Twice on differnt sections of my land, both small planations are doing very well but they are only half and acre each. My letter mentions this and that i have planted a further 200 Ash whips since... Letter is written and the childish drawings have been made to a details site map... fingers crossed!
  16. I second that... --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=54.217836,-4.421893
  17. Hi All, I am currently writing a letter to local planning as i am wanting to use a section of my land to process cord and sell logs from. So I will be requesting to change the agricultural land to commercial and also asking for a shed to work in and store machinery & feed for the small holding. The planning officer wants a letter explaining and outlining my intentions as well as a scale map with the proposed work drawn on before he will talk to me about it. He has however, been very nice and quick to respond, he said he wants the above info so that he can advise on what i will and wont be given permission for and what i can do without seeking permission. Couldnt ask for a better first contact really but i would like to know if anyone has any advice on what i should and shouldnt be saying to him?

  22. Thought this might cheer you up if you have been having a busy day, i have been looking through my pc for something and found it. My friend designed my windfall logo, the one i used was her second attempt, the attached file is the original one. 24. If you are an exec director you are an employee of the company so I would agree with the 1k being a joke. You need to speak to your Industrial Relations Officer at local gov for free advice or a lawyer. Acas.org Have you had a consultation period? I think statutory for 7 yrs is 7 weeks notice is required plus a weeks pay per year. If none exec director you would I think be lucky to get anything...
  25. Just hook it up and haul it over, no worries!
