  1. Yes anytime you open up a muffler to breath better, adjust carb settings. Good info with SOUND file to listen to. Saw Carb Tuning I mailed a 084 flywheel to a guy in Japan and it was $15.
  2. The 066 uses that one STIHL CHAINSAW 064 066 MS660 MUFFLER COVER on eBay! The other one is for the 046 MS460 you had above this 066 one. The OEM 066 DP cover is hard to beat. I tried them with the pipes and the oem DP beat them hands down in cut times and flow IMHO.
  3. Here is a stihl 084 muffler cover I made to copy the stihl oem dual port muffler cover of a 066. I used a husky deflector. This DP cover I made allowed the 084 to cut better cut times then that one with that pipe sticking out of it. Also the one with the pipe, burned my hand on a stump cut. Look what way the oem DP stihl muffler covers direct the flow, I figure they were on to something
  4. 026 all you need is a husky 288 deflector and drill a hole. depending on the muffler you have for the 026. $15 The best 066 muffler mod is the factory OEM stihl dual port cover $45. Then open existing hole on side to size of deflector, like they used to be. Also drill out interior basket holes thats over exhaust port inside or remove altogether.
  5. That 026 piped video is Brian aka Timberwolf username. He ports and builds pipes.
  6. 16" bars on piped gas 084 and woods ported 084.
  7. Here is a 084 I sold to this guy. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7VPAIgia-M]YouTube - FRED Woods ported stihl 084 with pop up piston and roller nose bar[/ame] 3120 with a 20" [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8S-GqEFirBk]YouTube - Husqvarna 3120 muffler[/ame] Dolmar 166 with 20" I ran 16" and 18" too [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiVeELUkr1c]YouTube - Sachs Dolmar 166 11T testing[/ame] different woods ported 084 I had 20" [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BcSzbGUaY0]YouTube - Stihl 084 woods ported 11T[/ame]
  8. I ran woods ported and stock 084's with 16" to 24"
  9. Came from Baileys, these might be them though. Bailey's - Pro-Safety Felling Dogs for Stihl 044/064/066/MS 440 and 660
  10. Same 066 above with 16" bar. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUTMEcvTLr0]YouTube - woods ported stihl 066 8T set at only 14k[/ame]
  11. One of my old 066 with no de-comps Just put on some new dawgs I won in a drawing. Then new clutch cover and 24"-25" ES bar and chain to dress the ole girl up for some more cutting. When running the 16" bar the dawgs come off.
  12. OK somebody said 020 so I said drill it for outer dog. So lets clear it up 020 AV is mag clutch cover, 020 T plastic, 200 plastic.
  13. I know guys in Canada that make tuned pipes if you want to try and contact them. Also guys in US, but they are harder to get to build one for $$$. Here is my 5000 on muffler cold start racing. Now picture 30% faster on pipe. [ame] [/ame]
  14. If just a muffler type mod. On a MS290 I did, you can do a 30 min muffler mod at no cost and then re-tune carb and gain over 20% faster cut times, I'm thinking I got 23%. Now remember the 290-310-390 are being choked to death and cant breath to begin with.
  15. I ran a tuned pipe on my modified Partner 5000 plus and seen another 30% faster cut times compared to muffler. Guys in USA and Canada get $200-$250 for good ones. Is he talking just a muffler or tuned pipe? If just a 346 non-cat muffler that is a easy one.
  16. The 266SE shows 13" - 26" 266SE The 266xp is list to run 16" - 32" . I would only try the latter if cutting softwoods and full skip chain. 262xp
  17. Just to show you a little comparison video of the stock muffler modded 262xp 62cc to a Poulan 3750 60cc and a 365 special 65cc NO muffler mod, stock muffler. I dont think I ran the the 362xp I just finished in this group. All saws ran same new loop of stihl 3/8 RS with 7T. Lost sound for some reason during this video. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gD3rBS2SM8Y]YouTube - Husqvarna 362 xp stock project[/ame]
  18. For the 357 whatever you do dont waste your money on the Walbro 199. That was the worst carb with the problems. The replacement is a new Zama. Also there was a recall on the intake and plastic clamp, switched to metal clamp etc. If you have auto de-comp, switch to manual de-comp and plug off rest.

  20. I run 32:1 in everything. Plus side, easy to measure out of my quarts and gallons containers for bulk mixes at 4 ounces a gallon. Plus the 100 and 200 mixes with ethanol The R-50 does not stay mix with ethanol and they said not good on any above 10%, be warned about that. I talked to a tech at Klotz on the subject. You need to start making sure your oils mix with ethanol blended gases and stay mixed, if you have it. Klotz Original Super if you cut in really warm weather with 20% bean added. Klotz super 80%/20%
  21. I think there were made for the Australian market from what I was told. Dolmar for Mac page McCullochs range of Dolmar chain saws ...............
  22. Here is the Husqvarna recall info. I never seen a recall on carb Walbro HDA, I just know it was replaced with a Zama C3-EL42 and cost here is $40-$50 for carb. The original 357-359 Walbro 199 was the worst of the bunch with issues. Service Bulletin for 357XP, 359, 353, 346XP This service bulletin is not new. I thought that there might be some out there who were not aware of it so here it is. If your saw has a black plastic clamp around the intake right next to the cylinder it is applicable to it. If the clamp is of steel construction then you should be ok. B0600023 SERVICE *537 43 88-01* *compl 537 25 13-02 English 1 (1) SB, 357 XP, 359, 353, 346 XP, Partition wall and clamp for intake system, 2006-03 The existing intake system on 357XP, 359,353 and 346XP currently consists of an integrated plastic clamp in the partition wall. As the clamp is made of plastic, there is a risk of deformation. This results in impaired clamping force against the cylinder, which in turn can result in leakage in the intake system. To prevent this from occurring, we have now introduced a metal clamp and a new partition wall. The new partition wall is made up of polyamide with 30 % fibre glass. The new clamp is a hardened steel clamp. The new material and the design of the clamp reduce the risk of deformation and the subsequent risk of leakage. Full replaceability prevails. Introduced from serial number: 357XP 061100201 359 061100001 353 061100001 346XP 061100001 New part no. Description Excl. part. no. Remark 537 25 13-02 Partition wall, intake, complete New spare part 537 43 88-01 Clamp, intake New spare part Spare part, partition wall, part number 537 25 13-01, has been discontinued and is replaced by part number 537 25 13-02.
  23. I have the recall saved somewhere on the net. If you guys havent seen it I will get it for you. I cleaned my puter so I lost it in my files. But I have posted it in another forum for safe keeping. My dealer didnt know about the recall either. But with a copy of notes in hand he called someone and ordered my parts for free. I offered to install. But I have known others that the dealers have done the work for them free.
  24. My XPG is just the old 45cc version, running full size 3/8 full chisel full comp chain with 3/8 7T rim and 16" bar. The 2 NE 50cc ones weren't heated handle. Just goofing around with some stihl RS chain right out of the box, comparing different saws one day. Running it real RICH in the 13K range too.
