  1. Morning all, cutting up a fair sized Yew in Surbiton, Surrey. Just wondering if anyone wants it. Will need to be collected from site or possibly my tip site. Pm me if interested. Cheers... Phil Sent from my D5503 using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. I reckon an Arbor trolly would be a good bet on that job
  3. Love mine, the solid leg loops are really comfortable. Recently bought the one with leg loops that un-clip and it's not as comfy as the old one.

  8. Evening all, I'm cutting down 4 decent sized Douglas Firs next week (I would guess that the stems are 2-3ft across from memory), and wondered if anyone is interested in the wood? Unfortunately, the trees aren't roadside, so will be section felled and cut up into manageable pieces. If interested, pm me. Oh, and a couple of Sycamores too! I'll be able to send pics on Monday if that helps Cheers...Phil PS Trees are in Esher, Surrey
  9. Ha ha, I wish!! I'm going through the same dilemma as you, need to buy another truck, but trying to find the time to sort that side of things out is a nightmare! I'm not surprised your doing well, though, matey
  10. Hello Mr Roker! Things are obviously going well for you?

I use Blaze too on bigger trees. Works great with a ziig zag. It is hard on the hands, but you do get used to it. I like the fact that you don't notice the weight of the rope as you work around the tree.
  12. Hi Frets, there is a couple of places, one in Chobham down Hookstone Lane off Bagshot Road. Or there is a recycling centre on Kitsmead Lane which take woodchip for £20 a load.
  13. I second that. Recently bought a cheapish pair from HB (£200) and hate them. Had Bashlins before and will buy again.
  14. Hi all, just posted this in the firewood forum, but thought someone in here might be interested. If I get the job and your interested in taking the wood then send me a pm. Cheers Phil
  15. Hi all, might be cutting this dead Cedar down and was wondering if anyone would be interested in taking it away? PM me if interested. I don't come on here every day so may take a couple of days to get back to you. The tree is located near Esher in Surrey. Cheers Phil
  16. This one fell over missing the houses and cars, very lucky
  17. If you are in the south east, you might find that good climbers are in short supply!
  18. Good to see that Roker trees has got some decent managers in to keep the unruly staff in line!!
  19. At first I wish I hadn't responded to this one, one slip and through the greenhouse, but came down nice and easy
  20. Thanks guys, I knew someone on here would know it!!
  21. Hi all, can't find this in my tree book, it's a small evergreen, only pictures of the leaf I'm afraid. Thanks Phil
  22. Just found this on a ford site... This would seem as though it is a differential concern but before condemning the rear axle I refer you to a Ford Technical service bulletin that points to an axle noise from 43 MPH to 74 MPH. This is for vehicles built from 17/04/06 to 22/09/08. Your vehicle was built on 23/04/07. Basically the noise from the rear axle is been transmitted through the rear shocker mounting points, Ford made revised mountings available but part of the bulletin is to drain the rear axle oil and inspect for signs of metallic swarf that would indicate a differential concern before replacing the mountings with revised mountings. The TSB number is XXXXX issued 20/02/09. You should be able to obtain a copy of this TSB from your local Ford dealer as I can't post it here for copyright reasons. This gives you the part numbers for the mountings should they be required as they are specific to certain axles and ratios. Also if an axle repair is carried out make sure the correct oil is used, this is fully synthetic 75W-140 oil Ford number(NNN) NNN-NNNNotherwise a repeat failure can occur.
  23. A bit more investigation is required then! Noise has got worse over the summer, have to try and find someone local who knows there stuff as I'm a complete numpty when it comes to anything to do with mechanics! Thanks for your help gentlemen
  24. Dear all, I'm after a bit of advice. The diff. on my transit is making a whining noise. Anything I can do about it? I did get told by a mechanic that it will cost over £1000 to replace. Anyone had any similar problems? Thanks Phil
