  1. Ok Nats bollack short of 1.1 then
  2. I understand where your coming from its good to have aspirations but I would grow your business on your current client? You will naturally progress on to bigger jobs. The other thing been you really need all your own gear to get this sort of work it's a competitive market and you will need to keep your overheads as low as possible. Hireling lads in with a chipper and to remove chip ain't going to be cheep.
  3. I got 1.95 and have been using a full ibc in our cubic meter crates don't mind giving a little away but .2 of a cube would be a little much
  4. My sentiments exactly. Mrs miggins will see you as a working man with a family to feed Corporations will see you as number on a payroll
  5. Are you sure there 1200 litres
  6. That's was my first thought.
  7. Pikes come and recycle all our metal good to know there allso thinking about the environment:lol:
  8. Was sat chatting in the pub to an electrician who had his van done his attitude was it's insured I'll get paid out job done. Us tree surgeons must be a little more attached to our kit as when we got done I was absolutely gutted. Be carful when you replace as they will be back sometimes you can use that to your advantage.
  9. Lad that does a bit of work for me has bought a connect 6 weeks ago he loves it farther in laws got a caddy there quick but if you got a bit of weight on there a bit light on the steering. He has been a fireman all his life so use to driving things a little quicker than normal you never quite know where your going to end up when you come out of a bend.
  10. If it's a thousand litre ibc there just over a cube
  11. Keep looking forward to the intensive rehab mate you will get there.
  12. To honest mm there's no real easy way of processing arb waste in to usable logs it's hardworking which ever way you look at it. Most tree surgeons I know bring it back to the yard in 10 inch rings and then get the lads to split when it's slack. By the time you payed the machinery and labour there will not be a lot left init
  13. Wilsons do a log cleaner that will fit most machines fit one of thesa and you won't have to worry about tailings on elevator
  14. Oo er mrs
  15. Makes my blood boil. Cowards who I've nothing but contempt for. Years ago I fell out with one in a local boozer there were a few of them and two of us. Had a bottle shoved under my eye got away with a few scars. Both me and my friend were charged with gbh. Was lucky that the landlord and regulars gave statements backing our version of events. Problem being once you have trouble with them you always will:thumbdown:
  16. I have two bull terriers very protective of there firewood, I'm sure they think it's cut into logs for them to chew up
  17. It's difficult trying to run a respectful business when round every corner there's somebody waiting to rob you. I recently had a firewood customer wanting to know what time I was at my yard as he wanted to come and view the firewood:lol: I told him I'd drop a net off foc so he could try it. Still wanted to know when I was there. When I asked him for an address to drop his net off he was very reluctant. Few weeks back a guy in a 70k merc pulled up weighed down in gold nicotine stained hands wanting to no the price of bags looking everywhere but at the logs he soon left. Before that I was stood processing with my back to the gate when I turned there was a transit tipper 3 of them in there any scrap mr answer it's a firewood yard followed by some choice words
  18. In this neck of the woods they don't care and the police are that fed up they have all but given up on catching them. When they land in court been caught over the limit in a van that's stolen and full of stolen gear they get 9 months sentence out in 4 you can see why they get fed up.
  19. If I'm in a rush it Nescafé cappuccino two sashays in a cup two sugars whisk it up. If I've got time it's filtered what ever is on offer in the supermarket.
  20. Why would you have people there when your not. How much are you talking about. Your best bet would me to cut it in to manageable pieces store and sell to some one with a biomass boiler.
  21. I use to do the same with all the crap softwood we had from tree surgery works then started giving it to the boys in the pub. Now I put it all in potato boxes and sell them at £40
  22. Unless there's 100s of tonnes most chipping contractors are not interested plus you need the infrastructure to store tele to load hard standing. Mountain man if I was you I'd buy a good quality vertical bad some cheep labour Or your man in Wales or put another 5 k to your budget and buy a farmi wp36 with petrol engine when your not using it it could be hired out with an operator for £225/300 a day
  23. They have different signs in different groups. I'm sure you take security very seriously Tom but don't be fooled by the kids there just scouts. I don't say this lightly but I'd either move um on or pay some one to move um on as long as there there your a target, scum the lot of em
  24. If you can't find him I'll back shortly and look up his name for you
