As far as I know , Jansen are identical to Rock Machinery and their stuff is pretty good. I’ve had the Rayco RG13 for about 15 years and it has been bombproof. -
There are lots of quality 6inch pto chippers around but they are from £4k to £6k. I would keep your money, buy something decent on finance, get the work done in a fraction of the time ,at a fraction of the labour cost (without destroying your knuckles ) youd only be paying back £50ish a week at most. Plus it won’t have lost a lot of its value when paid off.

Mini chippers are great for the odd hard to get at tree but the labour cost of chipping is going to be much higher. would much rather pay for a machine that will save on man hours day in day out.

I also used skylotec for a long time, Changed to a Notch harness last year and liked it straight away.

Yes. Tom D,s old one. yes ,serious flow. Canal was built in the 1850s (famine relief project) to link two large lakes but area is a maze of caves and underground rivers so there’s stretches with no water and stretches like this one.

Few fallen trees to pull out of canal. I think the method statement took longer than the job on this one.

No. Property that fell into disrepair, family tragedy and ownership issues I think ,don’t know full story.

council call-out 2.40 on Friday, strong north gusts were last straw for huge old beech. it broke at base and brought down adjacent huge beech with it across busy national road. Very very lucky nobody killed . we were about 40 minutes away so no time to bring Valtra. We just about got the tricky stuff and one lane open before dark. Road fully cleared and open around 6.30. Jcb with 4in1 bucket and helpful sensible driver took most of the hardship out it.

We invented this for pushing over trees about 25 years ago . lightweight , 2 handles on one end, other end fitted nicely around stem. had to shelve it though, people kept misusing it for other stuff 😃

Yes. I just used threaded bar, might weld bits of flat on top. you could also tap the holes in machine and countersink Allen bolts, then you’d have nothing protruding up or down

40mm solid and 20mm plate. on and off in a few minutes

57kgs. Could probably get away with a lighter log type grab but I prefer brash grab. We fitted extra ballast which makes a difference, operator is standing around 8 inches further back so his weight is more effective, also a more comfortable standing position especially in high speed tracking.
