  1. So the college requires you to use class c "all round" protection when it's not deemed necessary, but doesn't care if the rated chain speed matches the saw used? Has there been a risk assessment carried out on operators overheating in chainsaw trousers? You said the course is countryside management, how often do you use a chainsaw on it?

    Jokes???

    Nope nae chance
  3. Don't know if it's any use but I've got a load of hollow promises I could definitely drop round in the morning

    How much?!!

A guy I know is getting dental work done in Poland, apparently it's half the price of here. I'm sure he said £25k, can't remember was that the local price or the Poland price
  5. Milwaukee do one aswell, atleast it has an oiler, 5m/s chain speed
  6. I use the Husky battery blower, just looked and it is the 525ib. Another advantage is storage in a vehicle, it's narrower so fits in a spot where a petrol wouldn't and because there's no fumes/fluids/leaks/hot exhaust you can store it in the cab, down the back of the seats etc so it's always to hand
  7. I thought Hunter stoves were still on the go, do they not do the spare parts for the older stoves anymore?
  8. For clearing large areas of leaves, woodchip, snow, the biggest most powerful 2t backpack blower. For general tidying up sawdust, grass cuttings, cleaning off machines etc, a powerful handheld battery blower
  9. I posted the photo on another thread, this was the same road, but 30miles away, and 2 weeks ago:
  10. Falling tree hits campervan (well campervan hits fallen tree...) on the nc500 PICTURE: Drone images show tree across A835 trunk road at scene of earlier Ross-shire accident near Garve WWW.ROSS-SHIREJOURNAL.CO.UK Drone images give bird's eye view of A835 accident which resulted in one man being taken to hospital for treatment.
  11. I should be getting a discount on os maps! Reminds me a bit of the War Department logo
  12. F*ck me I have a similar logo carved into the stone on my house, I had always thought it was a mason's mark. Turns out it's listed on that site as a benchmark!!
  13. Yes wheelie bins do burn well, but it is hard to find a reliable supply of them, and the locals have started complaining
  14. Curious as to how it might be safer than a normal chainsaw? No chainbrake and designed for single handed use?
  15. I'm taking a punt, just ordered a pair, £30 delivered off ebay, size 10 only. Might make good garden/yard slippers

    Jokes???

These FakeTaxi videos really aint what they used to be, tough wank
  17. It says it on the plate, Esse MF100 https://www.esse.com/wp-content/themes/esse/downloads/guides-and-manuals/woodburning-stoves/MFSE100.pdf
  18. This boot? https://www.fifecountry.co.uk/aqua-tuff-safety-rigger-boots-0208 Have you got, is it comfy? I used to have a pair of Hoggs leather lace up boots. They were good boots, but hell of a weight to them.
  19. If you look closely you'll notice it still has the fold lines from being taken out the packet that morning It's a bit like with me, if you ever see me in a smart clean shirt, it's probably still got the label on it
  20. This must be where a lot of it comes from, they have 11 (!) firewood processors on the go
  21. Terrible place to store firewood Needs more shelves, a comfy chair, and an old hi-fi Store oil/fluids outside in a separate shed/box, they just get in the way.
  22. SNP MSP Fergus Ewing to face disciplinary action vote WWW.BBC.CO.UK The former SNP minister has criticised government policy and a power-sharing agreement with the Greens. "Fergus Ewing meanwhile remains unrepentant, and insists he will continue to vote with his principles and on behalf of his constituents." I've never been a particular fan of Fergus Ewing, but fair play to him
  23. There used to be a couple of old geezers, from Buckie/Fraserburgh/Peterhead or somewhere who would go round the shows/big car boots etc in the north selling offshore surplus gear at knockdown prices. Not seen them for a few years now Overalls/boots/jackets etc etc All boots £20 a pair, no matter what they cost new, brand new unworn. I was once almost tempted by a pair of firefighting boots that were near enough knee high, would be good for nights out in the town.
  24. I think the "modern" version of rigger boots (ie approved for use on oil rigs) is the side zip ones, which you can take on and off without touching the laces. Comfier (more supportive) than rigger boots, but not as good as proper boots I use either safety wellies, dealer boots, or side zip boots as my outdoor slippers, but proper boots if you're in them all day ORKA Vulcan Waterproof Safety Boots - Zip Sided - High Leg WWW.HAZCHEMSAFETY.COM The ORKA Vulcan Boot provides a competitive price point yet offers fantastic features and protection meaning it is ideal for oil and gas, rail, utilities and engineering.
