  1. I hope he leaves a really bad review on tripadvisor
  2. I'm not a fan of wine, but go on then tell us how cheap it is to buy out there? In Scotland we're not allowed cheap drink (unless it's homemade)

    Jokes???

My neighbour was killed in a freak accident by an automatic gate. Lots of his friends have left flowers at the scene. They are a moving tribute.
  4. I don't think the council has ever promoted the nc500. It was dreamt up by a business group. I'm not sure it's a problem you can build your way out of. The council doesn't have enough money to maintain what they've got already. The roads are in a really bad state now due to the volume of traffic. UK government will be doing well out of it with the money made on fuel duty, maybe they should be paying for the repairs? A lot of the people doing the route will fill up with food and fuel at tescos inverness, zip round in a few days, then off home again. It would work better if you had half the volume of people, but staying for double the length of time
  5. UFO capital of the world is Bonnybridge. Probably in no way linked to buckfast consumption rates in the local area.
  6. Just another day on the nc500, camping on shore street in someone's garden 'Wild campers' set up on private garden in Wester Ross village of Ullapool WWW.ROSS-SHIREJOURNAL.CO.UK The incident prompted claims by some of over-promotion of the area and a lack of respect towards local residents.
  7. Type A chainsaw trousers are hot enough as it is, you will regret buying type C imo Husqvarna "Functional" helmet is a good tried and tested lid that will last many years
  8. If you heat by gas, you need a mains supply or a tank If you heat by oil, you need an oil tank If you heat by wood, you need a wood shed (if you heat by electric, you need deep pockets)
  9. Even a mile or 2 can make a huge difference. Round here you can get some absolute damp frost pocket midge ridden hollows, then just up the road; wind battered, sunny all day, cheeks bright red and haggard. Either way, don't piss about, build a decent log shed. A log shed is as integral to the wood burner as a chimney.
  10. Ukrainian troops learn bomb disposal skills in Scottish Highlands WWW.BBC.CO.UK Royal Navy experts have taught Ukrainian troops skills such as finding and neutralising explosives. It's funny how things come full circle..... Ukrainians fighting against Russia are being trained by the Royal Navy in Loch Ewe. And Loch Ewe was used in ww2 as part of the Arctic Convoys, to help provide supplies to Russia
  11. How can someone be fussed what their car looks like when they have an arnold clark sticker on the back window

"Right, that's me heading off to work now, see you tonight love, bye"
  13. China and india pollute a lot cos they're making cheap crap for us, they're on our payroll. Cars to iphones to wind turbines to landfill junk sold in poundland

  15. I had a French family stay the night, as they left I gave the 2 wee kids a tenner between them to get a treat, but I made sure to give them a Clydesdale note so they had to spend it before they left Scotland!!
  16. If veg oil 20l drum from cash n carry/catering suppliers. If mineral oil, local small agri dealer does 20l Kramp Gopart chain oil at a good price (cheaper than you could ever get it online, delivery is the killer). Also good price on hydraulic oil
  17. 17yr olds will be sending nude pics to each other for free anyway, so if one of them can get enough money for a house deposit, then fair play to them
  18. 19. Apparently he was last spotted in a rented campervan halfway round the nc500 looking for a village store with midge nets in stock
  20. I haven't got a clue how many calories I burn, or even how many I eat. But I eat like a horse (easily a double portion compared with friends/family), and don't put on any weight, so clearly the stuff is either getting burnt off or shat out
  21. I think it's part of the Ford global kinetic design language https://www.autoevolution.com/news/ford-s-new-global-design-language-kinetic-20-11014.html Basically, they want the transits and the rangers to look the same underneath
  22. Go on, post a few photos of the logs you're cutting etc
  23. Never mind free, round here people would pay you for them to take a load of logs out of your garden
  24. I was working for someone recently who offered cash, but they need taken to a bank to swap to current notes He obviously has a suitcase full of the stuff, and the paper notes are no longer tender
