  1. I've got the clear stihl combi can fitted with both the anti spill nozzles, best thing since sliced bread The only thing is, some petrol station cashiers don't like the clear cans and won't turn on the pump
  2. I recently put a pair of mud + snow tyres on the back wheels of my Transit, they seem a bit better but I haven't really tested them yet Mine are made by Collins, Polish I think, they're retreads
  3. Ford Transit Forum • View topic - MK6 fuse, relay and diode locations/ratings Just watch, as I think there was 2 slightly different layouts depending on the year
  4. Well I saw one on ebay and bought it, got it for £70 The major design flaw seems to be the length of the bed/ram Useful for splitting the big rings in half sideways, so you can get at them with a maul a lot quicker Also if you have planks to be made into kindlers (for your own use) you can stack 5 or 6 up and split them in one go without risking any fingers
  5. There was one I saw advertised on ebay which splits in both directions, here is the company selling them Log Splitter - Petrol - 20 ton Dual Action Will be made in china no doubt
  6. Lithuanian brich for sale on ebay: Firewood Logs White Birch 100 Bags (From Lithuania) on eBay (end time 27-Nov-10 23:20:11 GMT)
  7. Looks like a tall tree and a short rope
  8. I think the slight twist of the axe when hitting the wood is supposed to split it easier
  9. I would happily burn seasoned leylandii, but I don't think many people would buy it!
  10. I've made basic stencils before using cardboard, print out the design onto paper and stick that to a bit of card, and cut out the sections with a stanley knife, job done lol I've now got a plotter/vinyl cutter so could prolly have a better crack at them, havent had a need yet though
  11. Going by what they're advertised for round here, the price seems about right, but not "cheap"
  12. What about this beauty [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuHV0BlvjMc]YouTube - Woodsplitter homemade V-8 powered logsplitter, Accident Injury[/ame]
  13. Aye, I'm thinking it has to be faster than splitting with wedges, without splashing out on a powered splitter at this stage
  14. If its a crewcab then it will deffo be overweight
  15. I thought he would've replied by now, but Wee Jim from Ballater sells his softwood at the exact same price as you
  16. Has anyone ever tried a manual log splitter like the Clarke Logbuster 4? Clarke Log Buster 4 Manual Hydraulic Log Splitter - Machine Mart Looks like a large bottle jack mounted within a frame, with a "fast" and "slow" handle Obivously not gonna be as fast as a maul on striaght wood but I was wondering if it would be any use on knotty stuff? Or so my parents can split wood for themselves?
  17. Mister Solutions sell Stihl chains online, along with a few other brands Mister-Solutions Ltd
  18. You could upload it straight to youtube
  19. Also not much use in town as you turn your back for 2 seconds and someone parks up tight against your bumper (and I know what it's like, I have a ramp fitted on my van) Another intersting bit of kit is the U-Tail Roadload Limited U-tail Goods Delivery Vehicles
  20. Aswell as the gross vehicle and train weights, you also have to watch the axle weights
  21. All I had to pay for was the NPTC certificate to get CS30.1 CS30.2 CS31, had to do a year at college aswell though
  22. Probably a bit off topic, but I have a ms250 (don't mock me!) where the brake band snapped, then a few days after fitting a new one, the brake was getting harder and harder to engage and disengage. On close inspection the handle had a small crack opening up in it. The new handle I bought (genunine stihl, same part no.) is more beefed up, and feels like it is possibly made of a different plastic, suggesting they know of a problem with handles breaking?
  23. You may be exempt from a tacho depending on what you carry and how far What condition is the driver side headlamp in on the scrapper?
  24. Looks cool, the GTW will prolly be something like 5500kg or 5750kg Whats the trailer weigh empty though? Looks heavy, if its over 1020kgs then technically it needs an O licence
  25. Dead gorse burns like the clappers and is good for getting a fire going Nah do it at night, then you cannae see the black smoke
