  1. Not done one yet, there is generally a bit that can be done to all engines but some are really best left at a muffle mod only.
  2. Those early ones always work much better when modded, bloody awful without being done!
  3. Forgot about that one....scared me when I fired it up and was VERY noticeable on the pick up standard to modded.
  4. Not seen one like that before. Perhaps some sort of aftermarket one, looks in reasonable condition though.
  5. That's a good one 1) 372XP (non XTorq) 2) 357XP 3) 346XP 4) 395XP 5) MS200 6) MS660 7) 181SE 8) MS460 Not sure after that:blushing: these are the common ones that respond well to a bit of porting.
  6. Ah, the fog has lifted, the needle was leaking because the metering arm was too high:001_rolleyes: Glad it all ended well:thumbup:
  7. Mmmm, feeling we are missing out on something:sneaky2::lol:
  8. The 445 is a clam engine and stripping it down to port just adds a thumping lump of cost to the job so a muffler mod would be the simplest option.
  9. Do you think the kiddies trike is included?
  10. Is it just slight seepage? Did you replace the needle and metering arm? If you are getting slight seepage then you can use a light smear of oil on the gaskets and do the covers up tighter. It generally helps. Very slight leaks tend to seal once fuel gets in to gaskets and very rarely give issues - that is if they are slow leaks!
  11. I wish others cleaned their kit before sending it in:001_rolleyes:
  12. I will be out:sneaky2:..............TBH, the Jonnie 2085 of yours has been nice to work on, pretty clean and nice condition, just a few issues, some self inflicted but hope to finish it today!
  13. Not sure putting too much oil in the fuel would cause such an issue unless you had given it a double wallop and it was running 25:1 or more. If a new carb hasn't worked then I would pull the muffler off and see what the piston is like. It is pretty easy on these saws, no gasket and a flange around the exhausts entry so it meshes with the cylinder easily. Look to see if there is carbon blocking the exhaust or the piston is scored. You could run it for a short period without the muffler and see what it is like, just for a small cut but not too long. If it isn't the carb or piston, it may well be the coil - worth looking at the flywheel key also, I did hear that there was an issue with the tightness of the central nut from the factory and they were shearing their keys!
  14. And metal fillings aren't good in roller ball races:001_rolleyes: next time either use a puller or strike an awl through the metal case and lever it out. I nave use the drill and screw method but it is usually a last attempt bid to get it out!
  15. Huh - am I the only one that goes to bed with their head wrapped in silver foil the thwart the attempts of the Government to read and control my thoughts:sneaky2:
  16. Think your local competitor may have sent him in to take you out so he can take over your patch:sneaky2:
  17. Lets hope you are the "Big Prawn" and not the guy you are taking it to:001_tongue:
  18. Wonder what that one would do on a new chain or 3/8th!
  19. Found no air leak, it had an error code but that appeared to be caused by the seize. Updated the firmware and checked the gauze filter, diaphragms and meyering arm height. Tested it and all good!
  20. Weekend off Steve??? whatever next....4.30 finishes?? I was hoping to get Sunday off, but as usual something comes along to ruin the plan. My main mechanic has been off for the last two days to look after her sick kids (well, they are kids that are ill, rather than simply 'sick kids') so I have to find an extra two days before wednesday to get that little lot serviced in time for the van delivery. Looks like you will be busy for a fair while withy that lot. One of my fellas dropped off a 880, a 660 and an MS200 and said "I'm off to the Maldives for a couple of weeks, any chance of fixing that lot for when I return?":001_rolleyes: Think I have got things wrong:sneaky2:
  21. Thanks Will, glad it all turned out well:thumbup:
