  1. Can't be that bad if you get enough time to come for a chat one here
  2. you may wish to change the time zone in your settings. Go to your user CP, control panel, edit options and then check the time zone. Hope this helps.
  3. thanks..life it's too short to be fake.. I've got some good advice and a confidence booster which was needed the most I guess... ahh well...it kept the conversation going..
  4. at least we don't get all too cocky and then fail because of it
  5. dunno..The tree decided to fall the way I wanted to this time I was given a better saw as well, which has made a big difference. But yeah...since posting this on Wednesday I think I've gone a long way... Not entirely sure what the heck am I going to do with it now I guess I'll frame it and hang it on the kitchen wall so it's there for me to see while baking the cakes...
  6. makes me angry that..esp the thought of what's the next step...
  7. Ha! Passed it! Easy peasy! Now..Who wants to give me a job
  8. my 3.5 y/o went: ' mummy, they forgot to cut that last tree..'
  9. you wouldn't mind that in a cold/wet weather though, would you?
  10. well..It could have been a good plan to get those £££ I failed my driving test for that very reason so I know how it works...Mental failure = practical failure..
  11. Ahh rubbish! We don't have a TV! How did they get on? Plz don't tell me that it was a bunch of celebs
  12. Ahh man! You ruined it! You could have PM'ed me with the plan!
  13. I think we've done enough practice on CS30 for handling...I was also felling slightly higher leaving me some room to practice on the remaining stump.
  14. Just a thought...Could you not wear an ordinary cheap thin material hi-vis trousers over your preferred chainsaw trousers? You would protect the CS ones and could get those washed as much as you like...Feel free to ridicule...
  15. They are good..Well at least the one we had was good It's just the 5 day course I don't was long enough. Two more days and I would be chopping those trees down no worse than any other prof Practice makes perfect...
  16. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/24273-any-other-losers-like-me-cs31-not-going-too-well.html this
  17. After taking some of your advice on board and pressing correct leavers in the brain I kind of got things going today And it's all OF COURSE mainly thanks to the most incredible and amazingly awesome, unbelievably lovely and super fantastic instructor (I know you r reading this YOU ) Test on Monday..We'll see how it goes cheers for your moral support!
  18. It's not so much the flat cuts that I'm failing on..they are more or less OK..I can't get the angles right. I loose control of the saw at 45 degrees and somehow end up with a sawdust rather than nice shavings and the first cut going in too deep/not deep enough at the wrong angle and allothertheplace..I'm working on it though
  19. You just have to drink loads of tea to raise your body temp. Works as a radiator Seriously, I've been working in wet trousers myself today. Our boiler is dead.
