  8. update: so I spoke to someone who actually works there and they said that I won't need to bring my own chainsaw I will need a pair of boots (ordered), a helmet (will be ordered once I decode all those regulations and stuff ) and the trousers. If anyone have and would like to sell me the size small trousers plz PM. I'm keeping my eye on anything up to £40 on e-bay for now. Thank you to all of yous who offered your help!
  9. Hi, Thanks everyone. I'm seriously and pleasantly surprised how very helpful you people are I think I better wait for the confirmation letter first before I begin arranging anything. The office staff might have got it wrong. I will get back to you then. As suspected, the place I'm volunteering @ were useless! Shame one them! Thanx again.
  10. It's complicated. I'm getting some funding for this so changing training centres would mess everything up as I believe the grant money gone in already. It's also the nearest to me. MattyF, I'm in Luton (), thanks for your advice. I will PM him tomorrow if he doesn't respond on here. Cheers
  11. oh god..that's hilarious..I love how they just do a runner *whistles*
  12. ahh thanks chaps! really appreciated. Cakes in return guaranteed I'll see what I could possibly pinch from blokes at work tomorrow and if not much luck I will deffo be back on here Made me feel the whole lot better you lot anyone with small feet? (5.5 - 6)

  14. Shuttleworth long story..It wouldn't have been my first choice trust me.
  15. well they would have to be folded and belted I'm a female size 10 and not the tallest in the world.. But it should be doable I thinks The course would start on 10th of January and your saw would be returned to you all shiny and sharp glad I posted on here..Thanks guys
  16. That is really kind of you! I will speak to the place I'm volunteering @ first. I should definitely be able to get a helmet from them and, although, they do have saws they are slightly possessive with them. I'll have try my 'puppy expression' and see if I can talk them into lending one. I'll go there tomorrow. Hamadryad, what size trousers do you have? i hope it's not some cheeky arb term that I'm not yet familiar with
  17. I haven't yet received my letter. I had a quick chat to the girl who took the payment re what I would need so I can MAYBE start looking for the BOOTS and MAYBE the TROUSERS if required *gobsmacked* How difficult it is to hire a chainsaw I wonder...?Any volunteers?
  18. I don't mind getting my own PPE *goes to search e-bay* it's the chainsaw and the card that I'm concerned about! Somebody should ring me back today to discuss. I wan't to be prepared for that conversation...
  19. my heart is braking to pieces here not a happy bunny... When I spoke to that stupid hen on a phone she has never mentioned anything like that just said that the course would be fine for me. She couldn't even provide me with the info on what I would be needing. How do they give them jobs I don't know...I assumed the chainsaw would be provided without even doubting! I could possibly hire equipment but where am I gonna get that bloody card from?! it is NPTC and that's why I'm paying blooming £820!
  20. The story: I have been trying to find suitable course for me for sometime now. So I spoke to the college, explained the situation that I'm absolutely completely and totally new and asked them to help choosing the course that would allow me to start looking for a job in this line of work. Now I arranged the payment for my CS30/31 only to find out that I need my own: PPE, chainsaw and Lantra card Devastated! Where on EARTH am I going to get these from?!!!!! Have they recommended me the wrong course or what? Seriously panicking now:afraid: What a morning
