  1. I think there is a woodfuel place towards the Hull area (next to Drax?)
  2. At present it looks so including transport. 60 ltrs is not much and I am amazed Aspen send such small amounts as normal deliveries are much more amounts and meant to be through the network of suppliers. Are you purchasing in the small 5 ltrs size?
  3. I was one of the first to use Aspen here but prices have gone up so much in general I looked elsewhere. The firm also produce a green chainoil which is the reason for some delays as we have been testing the product in the woods. I am in a long discussion with HMRC to reduce the fuel tax to that of Red diesel and almost there.
  4. I have hundreds of small apple trees growing in green plastic bags at present we grew from seeds. I would miss a fresh drink of organic scrumpy at the weekend!
  5. Thanks for the nudge. I had not received all the info I needed however it will be available as follows:- 200LTRS steel drums x 4 on a wooden pallet. 60LTRS steel drums x 6 on a wooden Euro pallet. 20LTRS plastic cans x 24 on a wooden pallet. If people need less in Derbyshire it will be possible to collect. The product will store for 24 months with no issues according to the paperwork. We are aiming at present to send direct to customers from the firm who makes the fuel so the PRICES WILL BE LESS THAN THOSE TO dealers/distribution people. (Sorry Aspen!) The product is the same as Aspen but the smell is different. It is approved and tested in the EU and the firm has been producing for over ten years but we had not heard of them. All should be known soon but I have to keep some details back due to commercial reasons. If people wish to PM with possible amount needed we can E-mail you ASAP.
  6. Need something to work on sites without mains and good enough to capture vehicle number plates.
  7. Good firewood materials and interesting pictures but the HSE would have a wobble including the machines! Not all from the "old School" work in normal clothes.
  8. We have suffered over time the logs being stolen so I did some research including with the local Police and think everyone might be interested in the following. Since medieval times it has been legal and still is for every parish in the UK to have a set of wooden/steel Stocks/Pillary. Most were on common land but some on private land. The exact legal wording I will find but meantime it is installed to keep the public from crime and stop those who do. (It is legal for anyone to assault, revile, aim filth at a person in Stocks/Pillary) Would stop a large number of the current thieves if this happened to them in public. I told the Police I was making some wooden ones and was not told cannot. Must provide the person basic bread and water. Time in the stocks is up to the person who had the crime done against them.
  9. Looks like a old fashioned parish hangmanspole.
  10. It's around 13hrs non stop to Singapore and then 8hrs to Brisbane. NZ is again some more distance. Look for flights on Air Asia as the prices are good and a decent firm.
  11. I should go to Salford and ask him to help find the woodchipper some of his clan stole. .
  12. We did some trials around ten years ago and used fresh Larch in 10cm square chunks which allowed muck/urine to drain and the chips were burnt afterwards for bio fuels:w00t: Cows gave more milk and less feet/teet issues.
  13. Smart Water/Grease on a pile of logs. I would wait around to catch them if you have an idea on when and who. Tell the Police there will be hassle and that should make them attend.
  14. A lot depends if cutting grass or used as a clearing saw and ground conditions like slopes and the height of the person.
  15. Have you considered a large chip size to allow more drainage under the cattle and reduce topping up levels? One problem with the green power stations is trucking out of some woods. Much more simple in a Unimog.
  16. The worse issue is the long flight. Like cattle in a crush for 24hrs!! Singapore is a nice place to stop in and have some durian.
  17. You need to dance as you walk. (Serious) I am tall so purchased a machine with an extended shaft which stops backache. The cutting end should balance slightly off the ground when off the hands.
  18. Well I know some traffic police both in Derbyshire and abroad and all are much aware of the regulations. Do you know it is illegal to use an Agricultural vehicle on the motorway unless it is closed/involved with tree works? Is the standard grain trailer fitted with air brakes and speed rated tyres? The current abuse of the rules on red by so many will result in everyone having to use white and claim back the tax which means huge amounts of paperwork and proving mileages.
  19. I have been in contact with some of the National Press including the TV following the much one-sided scare coverage of the FC woodland sale/leases. It looks like those of use who work in the general tree world might be given a chance to give our view to the general public and correct some misdleading facts. I am sure people will have read the posts I have done so if there are people who would like to comment possible live please PM me within the next two days. A mobile number would be useful to call you. Statements from some people that all gates will be locked and all trees cut down is rubbish. Legal public footpaths will remain open. I know from info received that the Woodland Trust would like the public to panic and help purchase local woods that are then not maintained as before. Rural areas need work!!
  20. I know people that have done Land Rovers when the back three points linkage and power take off was still available as an optional extra from LR. Land Rover also produced the Forest Rover for the FC/FE which is rare but still some around in Scotland running on red diesel.
  21. I have done it three timesl legally with approval. Once with a Bedford MK with winch and on a U900/417 that was a tug for the MOD and on a 10 ton Mercedes 4x4. I had the vehicles checked in person and approved as we are an Agricultural/Forestry small business. DVLA office was very helpful. Does help a lot if the vehicle has not been registered as something else before. (MOD vehicles not registered as civilian)
  22. A face and vehicle details passed to the police should result in being paid for the logs taken. (Add on costs for camera/wasted time onto the Invoice) Date and time on the picture is useful.
  23. I find this method useful. The Clydesdale weighs 1000KG and is voice trained as well:thumbup: unlike the machine. This was tree lengths spruce going for stakes/fencing panels/christmas trees. Ground was boggy and someone had tried with an ATV but turned it over and stuck in all the brash.
  24. Sarcoids: Facts You Need to Know - SARCOIDS - University of Liverpool Please be aware some of the pictures are not pleasant!!
