  1. Yeah, i like the idea of "deterrents" that make sure they leave lots and lots of DNA evidence. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. Been keeping an eye on this Beech tree whenever passing. Think its perenniporia or rigdioporus. Saw an identical bracket slightly further up the buttress flair on a London Plane the other day. Don't think any of the neighbours or the parish council will admit ownership of the tree. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

    Holidays!

Regarding College, i'd say do it. You can become a very good tree surgeon IF you are being taught by a someone good but to be a great arborist you need to know all about the tree - biology, P&D, etc. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  7. At least you had somewhere comfy to lay while on break. All to often humans repulse me with what they do to the planet, animals and other people. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  14. Is that dealer in Whittlesford? If it is, Malcolm's a nice bloke, I'm sure he'll happily take you inside leg measurement. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. I was also looking at these the other day. Also known as a muck-truck or powered wheel barrow. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. If you feel strongly about the work then report it to the relevant LPA. I recently attended a meeting between local contractors and Tree Officers. The TO's did say they wanted to be informed about bad workmanship on protected trees. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. I'm not sure that it is one of the tarmaccing/roofing/tree surgery/patio's/fascias/garden clearance brigade. If you look closely at the side branches, they have tried to cut to growth points. I think it was probably a new start-up or landscaper that think they can do tree work. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. Hi Sammym, welcome to the forum. I'm a bit confused about your opening post. You say that it used to be a choice between the 261 & 346 but you say you had 3x 261. It doesn't make sense. And in answer to your question - Husky 550xp Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Haven't put any down myself but i believe you can get different thinknesses of the cellweb depending on the weight of vehicle that will be using it. I would imagine that you'd have a good few inches of sub-base under the tarmac so the new level shouldn't be much more than existing. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. Just done the PTI course over the last three days. It is an intense course but I would thoroughly recommend it and Guy Watson is very very good. Now have to wait 6 weeks for results as I'm not brave enough to phone Guy for a pre-moderated result. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. Hi Jon, if Spud can fit your saw in and if your going to Jonsies show at the end of the month then I could deliver it to Spud. It would have to be posted on the return journey tho. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. It's ok Richard, Steve's good at DIY as well. He'll make the door fit his head. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  24. Yeah, that top was quite big on the first Elm. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. After half a days climbing today I realise that i'm too unfit to go for a serious landmark challenge so I will just pay my money and do the one in fancy dress. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
